After three years of procrastination I finally made myself sit down and finish making Coral textures for Velvet Dreams. The new version should contain textures for all blocks all the way up to version 1.18.
I am a gamer and most especially a Minecrafter. I'm somewhat tech-savvy and have dabbled in almost all aspects of Minecraft including mod development. I currently for work for a Nursery growing LiveRoof and doing whatever else needs doing, including being a diesel mechanic, apparently.
I have played Minecraft since beta 1.4, the update that added Spruce and Birch trees. When I started playing the game you crafted a log into planks and just got...planks. One color. During the beta 1.6 and 1.7 era I started getting into mods and texturepacks. During this time artists like Aegeon and Steelfeathers were are the forefront of the community, producing very high quality work and fast! Eventually these artists moved on with their lives and left their works to crumble in the sands of time.
The sudden absence of the texturepacks I used to know and love left a void in my Minecraft experience. One day I ran across a very small pack project someone had just started. The textures they had made were inspiring to me but it just wasn't enough. I eventually took the textures as my own and started modifying them. I changed these textures over and over again, until one day not a single one of the original artist's abandoned textures were remaining. All of the work was now my own. This was the birth of what is now the Velvet Dreams texturepack.
Velvet Dreams has been in off and on development since late 2012 or early 2013. The texturepack has seen many long hours of work, dozens and dozens of changes, numerous versions of Minecraft, and has benefited over time from my willingness to change old things and my slow growth in experience with the medium and texture style over time. The versions of the pack I have available today are something I am extremely proud to have produced and be able to share them with others in the world.
