Its is no mod you run it over a mob like a zombie and it prevents it from despawning

MCEdit, its alot for me to explain but it would be more helpful to you to just look it up (i'd probly confuse you more)

You can use MCEdit's Persistant mobs filter its rather easier than installing a mod
