Skindex was perfectly fine, I've found quite a few skins on there before and never had any issues. I mean, I know it's down currently, for a DMCA complaint, but that doesn't mean it's not trustworthy. As for virus scans, depending on your scanner, which there are numerous programs these days, there can always be a false positive. McAfee and Norton's are notorious for this, and also for removing much needed files for your system, keep that in mind.
