(4.) Experience as staff:
Through working on numerous servers, I have discovered that many servers have different rules, different people, and different styles of both gameplay and regulations for punishments, etc. Throughout my time, I have muted a fair few people, banned few (which is a good thing, I guess), as well as carried out judgements during 'trials'. I also adapt and learn new commands and plugins, depending on what the owner of the server has installed.
(5.) Your thoughts of the tasks that a Admin has:
An administrator deals with the larger issues of a server, however the moderators are the ones that do the light lifting. Administrators have access to greater punishments and authority than moderators. This also means that an Admin has to make sure that Moderators (as well as other staff members) do not abuse their own privilages, and report such wrongdoings to those of higher authority (Head administrator, (Co)Owners, etc.) to be sorted. Administrators often are responsible of dealing with donator issues, as they are of higher sensibility than normal members. Of course, this changes per server. Administrators also can do everything a moderator does (including helping new players, etc.).
If the server has a forum, the administrator also has the responsibility of moderating the more sensitive areas of the forum, as well as being supervisor for those of lower ranks. An admin also has the responsibility of banning people from certain subforums, etc.
If the server has a teamspeak, administrators have the authority to create new temporary (or permanent) channels. They should also have the authority to enter any channel, as well as move/mute/kick players, perhaps even ban.
(6.) Are you willing to help the server with any of the above goals? So yes how?:
I can help the server with staff goals if I myself become a staff member, as that increases the count of staff on the server. I can also help with testing commands by, well, testing commands. The server website I can help with by frequently checking on it, and moderating the forums. I also can help players on the server.
(7.) Some basic commands for Admin:
Here, I am going to list commands for Admin which moderators probably wouldn't have, as to not list obvious commands like 'TP' or 'Kick'.
- /Ban
- /Tempban
- /invsee (allows you to see into other people's inventories and add/remove things)
- /Vanish (/v)
- Worldedit commands (//wand, //set (insert things here), etc.)
- /nick (for setting donator's nicknames if they want them changed, etc.)
- /warp
etc.
(8.) Amount of time you may play on the server:
I can play on the server whenever I am free, and can range from perhaps 2-6 hours a day, depending on my schedule. I often have a lot of free time, so this can be spent on the server. I often have events on weekends, but these only last around 2 hours at night time, so I am free the rest of the time. If I obtain this position, a lot of my time will be dedicated to this.
(9.) How do you handle with fights between people?:
Fights between people can be handled multiple ways.
- If there is one clear aggressor, then he is muted, and I obtain the stories from both sides, before making my judgement, depending on the reason, etc. of the falling out.
- If both sides are repeatedly attacking each other, both sides are muted and both sides still give me their sides of the story, however depending on the severity of the argument both sides may be punished (the prior aggressor harsher than the second). This of course can be changed by evidence gathered.
- If one side of the argument is using racist or inappropriate remarks, this person is muted immediately, both sides give me their story, and I make my judgement, however the person using the racist/inappropriate remarks also suffers a period of being muted, or some other punishment.
(10.) How will you handle when someone is breaking the rules?:
If someone is breaking the rules, I will punish them depending on the severity of the rule breaking. If a higher authority has told me specifically how to deal with punishments, I'll abide by what they say. I will also keep an eye on the person and ensure that they do not continue breaking the rules.
(11.) Are you able to find hackers/cheaters?
Yes, hackers or cheaters often act in a specific way, as well as have an abundance of ores or specific high-value resources. They also have certain ways they mine, etc.
(12.) What for punishments will you give by: Hacking, Cheating, Breaking rules?:
Hacking:
For hacking, I will ban, as hacking can affect players greatly, and not just the hacker himself. A hacker many also have the knowledge to exploit the server, which poses a threat to everyone's work.
Cheating:
Depending on the type of cheating, I may temporarily ban a player, or do some other type of similar restricting punishment. Depending on the severity, it could possibly also be a ban.
Breaking rules:
See above. If you have not seen above, here it is again:
If someone is breaking the rules, I will punish them depending on the severity of the rule breaking. If a higher authority has told me specifically how to deal with punishments, I'll abide by what they say. I will also keep an eye on the person and ensure that they do not continue breaking the rules.
(13.) Can you look at: Applications, do multiple tasks if so how?:
I can look at applications and accept/deny them. I am a role player and have Co-GMed and GMed on other sites several times, so I can look over applications well. I can multitask, as I have two monitors.
(14.) What are you building skills like?:
My building skills are okay, though they can be improved upon. I know basic and basic-advanced redstone, so I can build small machines.
(15.) Any plugins experience?:
I am experienced with several plugins, including factions, essentials, PEX (PermissionsEx), as well as some other plugins.
(16.) Skype: activehaloman (do not ask, I made it when I was much younger)
(17.) What do you know about factions?:
Factions are groups that work toward a common goal. They have leaders as well as sub-leaders, and members that have various roles according to what the leaders wish them to do. Factions can also claim territories, etc.
(18.) Staff abuse, what will you do?:
If staff abuse their rights, I will immediately message an available higher-authority member in order to sort it out. If no higher-authority is immediately available and the staff is abusing his rights during that time, I would;
a) If I am a higher rank than him, temporarily ban him/her until a higher-authority member is online.
b) If I am the same rank or he/she is a higher rank, than me I will inform all other online staff members to subtly monitor the abuser's actions, and write down every wrongdoing he/she does. Once a higher-authority staff member is online, I will inform him/her of the abuser, as well as refer him to those who wrote down the actions of the member as evidence.
c) If I have access to PEX (if it is on the server), I will put the player's rank to a member so he cannot use any staff commands.
(19.) Anything extra you wanna let me know?:
Well, I want to let you know I have read the whole of the first post. I'm going to let you know this by writing ~Zhongguo Ren~.
