Then install a standard desktop distro. Those are pretty much the servers plus desktop environments.

good luck getting player on at exact times... I hope you didn't even bother contacting my Skype, since if you did, i'm blocking you.
You said testing was starting on 28th, not only on 28th. good luck with a server... you are going to need it.
If you want to retry, i am willing to do so, ut if you deny me again, you will be severly missing out. I am one of the best beta testers on this site...

Extra info: Good with plugin configuring, and made some simple plugins, made some mods, tinker with just about everything, and have hosted my own servers, but only on an ancient netbook

I agree on that Fates looks awesome. I never got Awakening, but Fates will probably be the first one I will play (without emulation).

Despite i am also a novice Minecraft modder myself, I can't ever seem to model things out well.

You should make a Flans Mod addon with Arwings, Wolfens and Landmasters.

You can do a quick google image search of these things, and get started.

Why laptops? They are heavily over priced envelopes with poor specs. If you want to game, build a gaming computer. It is the cheapest option and you get some good experience with computers. Laptops are very pricey gimmicky things that some people think are the only computers in the world.

Rant aside, build a gaming desktop. If you need something to carry around all the time for gaming, then get a laptop (most people with gaming laptops end up gaming only in one location).

You should make your own build. I did base my current build off a build guide, but then... changed it up to the point it would it was entirely different.

I broke Ubuntu 15.04 since X would not start because xkeyboard-config was missing or damaged. I couldn't get it back on the system since it was apparently made obsolete. I then wiped the install and installed Ubuntu MATE. Never looked back. Didn't have crucial data since it was a 8 GB partition on a chromebook.
