I run a semi-vanilla server with only a few plugins to help guard against cheating and to enhance pvp, nothing that effects gameplay however.

The plugins we run:

Essentials
Headhunter
Battlearena
Anticheat plus

None of which effect the gameplay for survival. Our avg player size is 5-10 =]

The biggest advantage donor ranks have, is the enderfarm. and that has a trickle down effect with enderpearls, and enchants are cheaper for everyone. But we strive to keep a server that is not pay-to-win. We understand that we have to offer a few benefits to donors and if you look at our ranks, you will see they are quite reasonable and balanced.

The arenas and deathmatch are actually all /godkit pvp. At the start of a fight your inventory is stored with our plugin and you get a full set of god armor, (with Thorns III chest) god bow and sword, plus strength, health, speed, and harming potions, enderpearls, god apple, golden carrots...the whole deal. At the end of the fight, your kit dissapears and your inventory is replaced. You can join anytime you want and it does not take any donor status to enjoy our pvp equally among all. EVERYONE has the same advantage!

Only slightly, to join the deathmatch the command is ./deathmatch join. or if you created a team for deathmatch; it is the same and you assemble your team first with ./team create <player 2> <player 3> ...<as many as you want on the team>. Then have one person join and you will all join with him/her =]

And I just finished our 4th arena last night.

This gives us the following arenas:

Jungle Temple
City Block
Desert Temple
Nether Fortress

I am also currently working on a Capture the Flag for us as well. It is MUCH bigger and will accommodate 10+ vs 10+ in a 3 story, ice spike battlle ground !! That should be finished by tomorrow I am betting =]
