No, that looks like the only issue, so it should be alright once you add the 'texture' folder

I think there should be even more wall types. Since 1.14 added new slabs and stairs for some blocks, as well as some walls, I wish the rest of the walls should be added, like slabs and stairs. Also a nether remake.

If the file with all the files on your desktop contains the resource pack, all you need to do is go into .minecraft and put it in the 'resourcepacks' folder. (To get to .minecraft you need to type %appdata% in your search bar, then go into .minecraft.)
If it is the map, do the same, but go into the 'saves' folder.

If the above doesn't work, then go into the resource pack, and open the pack.mcmeta (with a text editor of somesort) then see the pack format. If it is pack format 1-3, then it wont work with 1.14.4. It needs to be format 4

When the jar files are in the folder, all you need to do is run minecraft with the forge profile. All the mods will then get loaded in and you can start playing right away

Depends on the version. 1.14.4 mods are scarce as it is a new version. Personally I use forge to play with my mods.
As star_weaver said, get the stopmodreposts addon. Use curseforge to download you mods.
If you want to do the twitch way, do what they said.
But if you want to use forge, go to this link: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
Download the version of forge you wish to play on.
Run the file from forge so you can download the client.
Go to your search bar and put in %appdata%.
Go to .minecraft, then to the 'mods' folder. From there you paste the .zip or .jar files into it.

I despise diorite and all its new forms. Polished diorite is okay..... i guess.

(andesite is superior to diorite and granite)
