In survival I have made really fancy bridges--mostly about 20 blocks long and 5 wide with decorative measures that expanded further out and down. I often found that I would only be able to make half a bridge with the current materials of my holding. Though it took an hour or five to grab the materials per bridge, I found that it was worth the good appearance. I think it depends on how much time you want to spend grabbing the materials and setting them in place without attempting to use your invisible parachute.
Make an arena of a town, city, or other build that you have made, and make sure that there are vantage points and secret areas, maybe even an underground route.
