everyone knows dell bought out alienware like 10 years ago and ruined them, right? all the serious gamers i know would custom build over that

lol you're paying for the wrong stuff then, my domain costs me 10 a month, and my server with 3 gb ram is 40 a month, that's a fair amount but for a small group of people it's possible to do it for a few bucks a month

woah i skipped a whole page, but im on a table and too tired to fix

No, dont get 16gb, waaay too much. Ive got 8 and i dont even get half way. And also, go for 1600mhz ram with the lowest latency you can get: 8 or 7 is good.


Depends on how much you multitask. On my computer right now WITHOUT running Minecraft I'm using 3 out of 12 GB.

What other programs have you opened? I mean, id have a file browser, 1-2 internet browser, gimp and minecraft open and i wouldnt even be using up 3


Windows Explorer, Chrome (up to 30 tabs, but usually around 5-10), FileZilla, Dashlane, Netflix (app version), sometimes a Spigot test server, Notepad++, Mumble

I think that's average use for me at once

Minecraft/Servers Finding The 'Perfect' Server

Mine's not whitelisted, we're running on 1.5 and most of us are adults. It's pretty much impossible to grief on our server (and if you can manage it I can revert or wipe it out pretty much instantly).

I don't plan on going above 20-30 people ever. I run the server for my mom.

You do have to pass a little test to get out of our spawn room but that's about it.

Biggest problem we're having right now is some instability because of bukkit 1.5 and plugins not being updated Luckily everyone on the server seems to be pretty dedicated to us so nobody's leaving because of it.

We have probably 20ish dedicated members who log in and out throughout the day, VIP get priority ($5 a month but lots of contests and giveaways so people who might not be able to donate can get it and if you're willing to help out I always offer it) and we average right now about 12 people on at once.

Can't swear, can't grief, can't spam, we make it pretty clear that we don't tolerate nasty behavior.

Those aren't really RP plugins, they're RPG plugins perhaps.

I haven't seen many that really promote roleplaying.

I feel that more building materials would be nice. Lots of furniture, being able to dye stone/wood/etc, upright slabs.

I'd also like to see things that encourage community more, minigames maybe, things of that sort.

I've considered using Google's adwords for my server, I wonder how well that would work. Not that I'd know I haven't seen an ad on websites in years, but still.

Well looking over the code it looks as if it IS a ping method they are using, they just removed the old out of date "hack" for legacy clients, in which case, you are using out of date methods.

I don't really think of Spigot as a third party client, it is Bukkit at its core, just a much much faster Bukkit. Like a Super Bukkit. duh duh duuuh!
