Aeternalis_Hi.
I'm an ex COD: Ghosts pro player. I am currently an avid SMITE player and soon hope to compete in non-official overwatch tournaments.
Online games are toxic for one reason: You're not good enough to win the game 1vx.
Let me break it down. In COD, most people have no clue what they're doing. This was very prevalent in Ghosts and I had to carry teams on a regular basis until I joined my team.
In SMITE, you usually have 4 others who know nothing about the game's meta and feed their brains out. In COD, this is somewhat easy to carry with. In Smite it's near impossible. Same goes for Overwatch.
I worked hard to get where I was in COD and I would like to eventually get back up to that level. The only thing holding me back are my teammates.
The only thing holding me back are my teammates
This is why people are toxic in video games. You are on a constant grind and your teammates are holding you back. They become the source of frustration from the game.
Myself? I'm usually level headed and have quite the resistance to losing my temper.
But, when I lose it, I REALLY LOSE IT.
You can't understand it until you play a game like these where you're held back by other people. My message for these players? Get a life, become a sensible person and maybe you'll end up living properly.
This is quite harsh, clearly you don't understand the circumstances. You probably don't play competitive games.
Me, among many others, don't play these games for fun. If I want fun, I'll play minecraft, skyrim, or GTA. If you play these games for fun, that's fine, but you're ruining other people's experience by playing in a game mode where you're supposed to prioritize winning. (Ranked, Comp, Clan Matches)
