I think the choice of live action is not great. Also, the art style does not preserve the feeling of Minecraft that I love so much. It simply doesn’t look like Minecraft. It looks like a mod pack paired with an intense shader and a 10,000x PBR texture pack. I also mildly hate the mob designs, but the thing I hate the most is live action in this movie. It reminds me of Sapnap’s two YouTube shorts where he edited himself into Minecraft, just with a 100k budget. I really hope that it turns out to be decent, because a revival of the Minecraft community would be amazing, but hopes are not high.
