Alright well , Normal Bukkit is not the end of the road exactly, you could make A "Forge" server witch allows other players with the same mods as you to play in multiplayer such as flans mod or Redpower for example.
Now Tekkit is not bad by any means but if your set on getting something like Tekkit get Voltz , its like Tekkit but adds more warfare options Etc , but that of course depends on your preference
FTB is also very fun in my opinion but its your choice in what direction you want to go in.
