Sounds strange. Idk. It's all up to the server's policies I guess.

I use Anticheat and Essentials (both have spam protection).

If your server is offline, than I recommend changing it to online. Of course, this may not be doable based on the time the server has been up, popularity of the server and if you yourself even have a premium account or not.

Okay, I can list some of the things I don't like on servers.

    • Home-hosted servers. I know that if you have the right computer and right internet speed, it can be a free option but I will always prefer a server from a good online host over it being home-hosted.
    • Racism or too much vulgarity. I hate servers that joke about racism or are generally racist. I also dislike servers that are over vulgar, although I also dislike servers who censor vulgarity completely.
    • Servers who never have staff online. It doesn't matter if their staff are kind and helpful. If they are never online, that is a huge issue.
    • Over-saturation of advertisements to donate. I don't mind if a server wants you to donate (money is oftentimes an essential part of running a server and usually requires aid of others) but if they shove the idea of donating down your throat, I am not playing on that server.
    • No Website. Websites are huge for communities on servers so that players can interact with each other on a more complex level and receive updates, important links, etc. If you need a free website, make a free enjin site! I personally prefer a well-created XenForo site on a paid website host, but that can take a lot of learning and money to engineer.

Those are some of the things I could think of that I hate on servers. There are a lot more but that's all I have time to list. Just be careful with what you do and be empathetic with your players; put yourself in their shoes.

Hope this helps in some way!

Do you have Multiverse installed? The [world] prefix would be from Multiverse and can be disabled in the config. In the config for Multiverse-Core, set prefixchat: to 'false' so it will look like prefixchat: 'false'.

As far as the other prefix goes, you need to have a permissions plugin such as GroupManager or PEX where you can add special prefixes to groups or individual players.

Hmmm, Western. Not really sure about what to do for a western server.

Maybe towns modeled after towns that you would see in a Wild West film.
    Saloons.
Saddled pigs stabled outside of buildings to represent horses (?)
Focus on role-playing cowboys and bandits and things like that.

Add things like a warp hub and wall of fame for staff members or players you would like to recognize.

Make sure that the spawn is very user-friendly and is not too cluttered. Make sure that the spawn is navigable. Make sure you incorporate a lot of nether blocks into the spawn (every block doesn't have to be from the nether though) for good effect.

Not going to add you on Skype or request admin for my assistance.

I can tell you a good way to make it so that only donators can set some warps.

    What You Will Need:
    • A permissions plugin (preferable PermissionsEX or GroupManager).
    • Essentials (essentials is the plugin to set warps, I am assuming that you have this already. If you use CommandBook or anything else, this reply will be useless.)

    Tutorial:
    1. Go into your permissions plugin group configs, and give the following permissions to the groups you want to have access to certain plugins:
    essentials.warps.[warpname]

    2. Replace the "[warpname] with the name of the warp that you want them to have access to.

    Note:
This will only work if you do not give the ranks that aren't supposed to have access to these warps the permission essentials.warps.*

I agree with Z645. No one will host for you is there isn't at least some kind of other reward involved (e.g. actual money).

I know this is frustrating but is something you will need to learn.

Try getting some money by mowing lawns or doing chores around your house, getting a job etc. and then check around for actual server hosts.

VeryGames and hosthorde will give you unlimited RAM, bandwidth, and top-of-the-line server hardware. (Note that RAM cannot be unlimited but you will have more than you can use.) They will host your server for 30 USD a month and give you access to a control panel, FTP server ect.

I am not sure what you are asking in your thread.

Are you trying to find a free website host or server host?

Please refer to this thread and elaborate for clarity:

There's nothing much more you can do besides post advertisements on forums like here, Minecraft Forums, and Bukkit forums. Don't know what to say.

Maybe a viable option would be to build what you need to the best of your abilities, open your server and get a decent player-base going, and when the time is right, open up applications to become a Builder on the server and use them to coordinate the buildings of whatever you need on the server.

Best server hosts in my opinion will be VeryGames or hosthorde.

    VeryGames: http://www.verygames.us/

    hosthorde: http://hosthorde.com/

They will both run you about 30 USD a month for adequate server hardware, decent connection speed, and unlimited slots.

If you are looking for something that can be cheaper but won't have nearly as much power or potential, try BeastNode.

I don't know what the issue is but in my honest opinion, I would just switch to GroupManager if I were you.

The downside is you need Essentials to run it though, but Essentials is a great plugin anyways.

I used PEX since it was available but recently it has been just horrible. I finally gave up and just manually transported my permissions into GroupManager (the format is basically the same) and it works fine now!
