My old Victus laptop just broke (worth almost $1k) and I'm unable to get a new one currently. To continue what I currently do across all my projects (OpenProfile, Cornelia, Oct.Ink, 3D Armor mod, mod pack development, and more) I need a device with at least matching specs. All my commissions are currently set to unlimited and will be completed as soon as I have a device to work with.

I feel like using ai in theater spaces is so insulting and goes against to what theater is as a whole and its connection to humans. Like ai is an insult in general to all types of art since art is, at least in my opinion, the most human thing you could do no matter if its bad or good, because humans have always made art, but i feel like even more so when it comes to theater since you literally can not do it without people thats the key thing in theater is that it’s humans. I’ve been thinking about this lately because a few weeks ago there was a vote for poster designs for my schools musical. The posters were made in my stagecraft class, in fact my poster was one of the options, and i was looking at the options with my friend. My friend is part of our thespian board so they were talking in the gc for them as well, and I noticed there was one obviously ai (it’s a stagecraft class so it’s not surprising). My friend didn’t chose that one because ew, and luckily it got eliminated as an option by my theater teacher, my poster and someone else’s got picked, but it just really got me thinking about this. Cause while yes, you can probably use ai to generate the script, set designs, costume and makeup designs, posters and all that, but even then it still will have to be created by humans or performed by humans and that could honestly probably show more cracks in ai since its not taking into consideration that these have to be real and usually handmade. I wouldn’t really know how good ai is at this, since I don’t use ai and neither does my school for theater, but i feel like while yes there will be some people trying to replace parts of theater with ai because they don’t want to hire people who have an actual passion for it because its cheaper to just generate it ai could never truly infiltrate the performing arts and theater fully because it relies on humans. Like again I know you can generate a script and whatever with it, at the one act festival in my district this year apparently there was an ai generated one, but even then how good was that script (i wouldnt know since I wasn’t at the one act festival my friend was though and told me) and again, its the actors who help bring the script to life. I’m sure the person who ai generated the poster wasn’t thinking about this because im sure they didnt even care because its a stagecraft class and at least for mine only like 1% of the people actually care, but it just caused me to really think about this. As much as people might try, theater can not be successfully infiltrated by ai in my opinion since all of it is human and it is at its core the collaboration of different peoples ideas put together to make a beautiful show. Sorry if this reads off as cringe or anything i just felt really passionate about this topic i hate ai i love art i love my art made by man i love my brainrot slop content made by man.
