This is the time when you need to be preparing for the unexpected dangers of night. If you added a bonus chest to your world before you started it, quickly break the chest and all the torches around it. The chest might come with tools, food, wood, or seeds for planting. If you see a village, use the beds in it, take and replant crops from the garden, but don’t run off looking for a village, unless you spawn in a desert. Chop down the closest tree you see. Open your inventory. In the 2x2 crafting grid place the wood logs in one of the slots to make planks. Put 4 planks filling all the crafting slots to make a crafting table. Kill as many sheep as you need to until you get three pieces of wool.
Tip: If you put a flower in a crafting slot you can get dye which can be used to dye wool, carpet, beds, banners, leather horse armor, and leather armor. You can also dye sheep which can be helpful once you craft shears.
Place your crafting table on the ground and click on it. You will see a 3x3 crafting grid. Fill the bottom row with planks and fill the row above that with wool. This will make a bed. You might not need a shelter, but if you want one craft a door by placing two horizontal rows of planks. Dig a small 1x2 hole in a mountain or a hill. Place a door in the entrance. You can place torches too if you have any. Make sure you have enough space so that you can stand on your bed, or have space next to your bed. This will protect you from suffocating inside a block when you wake up. Now you won’t struggle on surviving. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do next, but keep in mind that you will want lots of food.
