From what I understand, minecraft utilizes more RAM/CPU than anything. At 8gb/3.4GHz you should be fine. Shaders might bog it down a little but that's what shaders do lol.
I'm running an AMD GTX 380x, i7 CPU at 4 GHz and 8Gb of RAM and can play the game at a steady frame rate above 60fps on high settings. Throw some high quality shaders in and I'm still chugging along around 60fps consistently.
