Thats a map file, not a schematic so you should just put the map in your minecraft/saves folder.
You can locate this file by clicking the Windows button & the R button at the same time. Then type in the Appdata. Click the roaming files. And then click the minecraft files. Find the saves files and drop the map in there.
You can post your own map under the projects tab. Simply click the projects button at the top of the screen. Then it'll take you to another page and at the right you'll see the button ''Upload Project''.
Simply create your own project page and insert a download link (dropbox for example). And boom you've uploaded a map!
Protection grants you a small amount of defence against melee attacks (1,6% per point i believe). All other forms of protection have double the amount per point (3,2%). On top of that, fire protection reduces the time you affected by fire.

Shops can be made with the help of MCedit (Download a shop filter and tada!) Also you might want to check out the program called worldpainter it can help you create your own custom map!
