Sometimes change is not bad but a lot of the times something may change what you use in the game, how you use the game. Even though we are suppose to be able to continue to play older versions, updates are killing what was. I deny updates as one destroyed my world once - I always have backups. They have taken away items previous used, updates have taken away the ability to use certain formulas for the crafting table as I once did - I can create want I could like with the architectural mods. (I am aware Microsoft took over - were a lot of the changes came from)
I really HOPE not. I really do NOT want to have to rely on the Internet for Minecraft. Single player can played offline and I do not want that messed up at all. I am totally fine with creating anything I need for Minecraft, it is my world to create, I am still using 1.12.2 because of all the creative mod tools I use to sculpt the blocks; don't want any of that to change.
With MultMC, I am able to view / play ALL versions of the game to see what I like, don't what that to change AT ALL. I have several, meaning 15 different Minecraft games ranging from v1.8 - v1.21.5 - able to open any of them and continue my building in each is I desire -- definitely do NOT want that interrupted.
I can see a lot of cons for something like this...
