It's better for gaming. Although it is very small, it has directX 11.1 support, and is generally slightly optimised better. Also I believe in 8.1 you can get back the start button from windows 7. Another advantage is that it automatically updates drivers, which is incredibly useful.

Whilst I agree that PC is far better, I do think consoles really add something unique. The reason I like consoles, is the fact that they are more family oriented (Not as much as the Wii, but you know), if I want to play with my brother, both sitting at a computer screen with a mouse and keyboard is less comfortable than sitting on each end of the sofa with a controller in our hands.

Another reason I like consoles is the fact that the games for it are incredibly optimized for the price. A $200-$400 console can run, let's say, BF3 with no lag whatsoever right? Then you look at a PC, your gonna be looking to spend $600+ If you want to play Battlefield 3 at a reasonable FPS.

Overall, I would say PC is better, due to the customisation ability of the parts, including the mouse, keyboard, headset and others, as well as the fact that any game on Xbox is pretty much guaranteed to be on PC, and the PC has much more games available. (I would mention something about being able to download illegally on the PC, but that would be against the rules, so I would never suggest that )
