Minecraft/Servers How to make a minecraft server more popular <3

The one thing I dont like about them, PVP Servers. They will be a pain in the balls, people will just ride in and start swinging and killing. They will be like a tank, add some invisible pots and your are almost certain victory.
Well thats my small rant for today.

One of the main reasons your player base had dropped is the type of players that actually play minecraft. Last December it was recorded an increase of player aged between 8-12 and a decrease of players above 16. So basically las christmas lots of older players had left because of some reasons and heaps of little kids finally heard of minecraft or finally got there parents to by it for them. One of my servers I play on is an intense Hardcore PVP server which just died in December. Everyone just made leaving threads and left. Little kids started playing and the server was like Pussy PVP you could own these kids so easily so I left.
So basically its not the server, its the players.

You do realise he is just hosting is from his pc its not going to be a dedicated server with like 8 GB of ram...

I currently dont have the server up, you need to build it in SP. Sorry if you thought you were going to build it on a server -_- I forgot to say that. I will be sure to give u credit though

It depends on what mod u download.
The Basics u need are:
File Extractors - Should come with Mac/Or download Archive Utility
Youtube access - to watch videos on how to install.
Navigation to folder - /User/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Thats the basics.
If you need any more help pm me, except if you want help on installing a certain Mod.
PS: Download Forge it helps - also watch a video on it. Trust me it will help alot.

Remeber back in Beta before the 1.8 update Minecraft was a sandbox game, where you could build anything you like from the resources you find. Now Minecraft with the new mobs, new items,new realm and the new buildings and structures.
Im not trashing the new updates but what happened to going out and minning for resources, now I can go and find a building and get Diamonds, Gold, Iron and stuff which you would normally work for. Minecraft has turned into an RPG in away, NPC's, finnally a preset goal in minecraft (Kill Ender dragon). IN my opinion i dont really want any new structures, its just ruined the game.
