well if your making a resource pack you should know how to find the games texture folder for yourself so heres how to do that.
click start on your desktop and then on the search bar type in %appdata% it should bring up roaming then go to folders in this order roaming, .minecraft, versions, 1.8.
now once your in the 1.8 folder theres 2 files one that is a executable jar file, and one is a JSON file, left click the executable jar file once to highlight it then left click and click open with, then open it with win rar or 7 zip or somthing like that i use win rar.
then once its open go to assets, minecraft, and inside there is all the texture files for 1.8 then you can browse through there and find whichever files you want and move them to your resource pack as a base or can copy paste all of those to desktop or somthing to make it easier later on.
this should work for any version of minecraft long as you go to the correct folder in versions.
