Help/Servers I'm new to being a server starter. I don't know what I'm doing.

Realms are quite "bad" for starting a public server, mainly cuz of no plugins and also only 10 player slots. You should be searching for a VPS to host it propely, try using the free one on OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), you'll just need a credit card for verify, although its free for forever! (if you setup it correctly).
