Well, I'm not sure how well this device will work when finished, I did have one odd idea. What if you alternated the player, and mob, so the mob would have weakness, for a second or two, then the player would have resistance for a second or two. So when the mob attacked, the player would be invincible and vice-versa ish.
Or if you want the mob not to hurt anyone, you could just give it strong enough weakness so it can't hurt anything.
What i want to do is make an TF2 Man vs Machine-like game, the Villager is the point where the mobs riding baby zombies need to go, so by increasing their follow range, they can track down the villager from anywhere, but i don't want the villager to be visible to the players
*suddenly remembers SethBling's Blocks vs Zombies*
... totally forgot that i can just put the villager underground... now i need a bomb that can be picked up...
