I'll definitely download all of the ones suggested so far to see what I think! Even if I don't use it I'll definitely give some feedback because I know how much work making a texture pack is.
The best skin I've found so far is this one here but I feel as though it's lacking in detail and it doesn't take advantage of the fact that you can have more 3d-like hair (for example, this random skin has "3d" hair)
So if you could work on an awesome skin, many cookies and diamonds to you!
