If its a server, use Essentials /spawner <mob> while looking at the spawner.

Client, use MCEdit to change the spawner.

I know EXACTLY how to do this.

For example, if your MOTD is "Hi there!" you go "§Hi there!" to make the MOTD shake all over the place.

It also works in books and on signs.
