This is a great question. The mystery of sleep is a one of the great mysteries and there's been lots of books and study about it. From my understanding, there are two kinds of dreams. 'healing dreams'....in which you don't really go anywhere. Your subconcsious is sending images to your cells. We have to sleep so the body can be healed each night. Subconcious communicates in images. So we get images and symbols in our dreams.

In other 'lucid' dreams...you are traveling out of body. Because we do that. Our spirit is unlimited, immortal, and can go anywhere. And many people see the future in these kinds of dreams...because your spirit is not bound by time and space.

Well here are some excellent ideas:

1.Create a mod that players can easily place good looking 'pathways' of various styles. Including rustic-looking pathways. And not cheap noob looking pathways...good looking ones!

2.A mod that focuses on adding 'game wildlife' the kind that people hunt. Deer, Elk, Moose, ...birds...bair....AND model them well. There has been an attempt at creating such mods or adding deer in MC. I haven't seen any good models of deer. I'll give you an example of the difference between good and bad. Some mods make really bad looking horses (won't mention which ones) ...where the legs are straight pegs and everything else is all squares. On the other hand, MC 'default' horses I good. Yes things are blocky because it's MC...but the legs are attached from the sides...there are hips if you want to call it that. Other 'bad' models have the legs underneith a square body rather than attached to the sides. I hope you this illustrates my point.....But basically a good mod that gives a good hunting experience. This could be a good way of exploring and adventure. Think of the PC games "Cabelas hunting games'....can you bring an experience like this to MC?

    3. A stained glass mod...that actually works....isn't buggy as hell (actually works just as well as default 1.7. This would be a big improvement to 1.6.4! It is a major feature that is missing from 1.6.4 Also can you make the glass look better than default?

    4. Update the 'footpaths' mod to 1.7.10 and 1.8 Create it for 1.6.4!

These are the main things I'd like to see!

    Hi, my suggestion is this:

-You don't have to have everything right in the beginning when you're first tarting out. Meaning, the best gear. Or the best voice....or best humor....or whatever. For most of us, building all that is needed for a good channel is a work in progress. And takes practice and repetition.

-As far as what kinds of videos when you start off. Mod spotlights, and tutorials (that are better than existing tutorials or offer something valuable and new to the subject at hand), and tips, etc. are not a bad way to go. Once you get a subscriber base and people regularly watching your videos, you can add other kinds of videos and stretch your creative ideas more. Also, doing the tutorials and things in the beginning are a way to build your youtube voice and personality. To get used to doing commentary. You know what I mean?

-Top Tip: Many video subjects out there have mostly poor quality videos. People who are silent and don't talk in the video. Find these kinds of topics, take note of them, then make the 1 good video of the bunch. Be the one who does make an effort to do commentary. Be the good video! There are plenty of subjects like this....even ones of useful subjects. It's easy to find examples of this because you yourself will be searching for things. And chances are, you find a topic where your need is met by crappy videos where there are no good videos of that subject....or maybe there is just 1 good video. But it's fine because your video has no competition hardly.

BTW, no matter how 'bad' you think you are in the beginning of youtube, You don't know how bad or good you are until you have done at least 100 videos! It all works out through the editing and faking it till you make it!

I think paulsoresjr is the best all round minecraft youtuber for all ages. Good clear minded commentary. Simple and family friendly. Entertaining but never "trying too hard to be entertaining". Generally he doesn't have an intro (which I don't like intros and the pretense as if let's plays are an evening tv program. Intros are annoying!) He has been prolific about putting out very good video series from "survive and thrive", roll-plays like the "man vs minecraft" series and many other good series. Did I mention he doesn't do cheesy intros and overpresent his channel or try too hard to be entertaining? Love his stuff!

In all honesty, you are going to have to learn as you go on youtube and have a "do-it-yourself" attitude. Because you are going to have to do it your self when it comes to things like YouTube. If you are not willing to make your own thumbnails, you probably will not have a very good youtube channel. The question then is, why would someone do this for you for free? Unless their skill is of no value and they have no life anyway and so would be happy to do some crap work for free for anybody! Their are tutorials abound on the internet. Have you even looked?

It is crazy. It's your server though. But no one has to play on it either. I can only see doing that if there is a really really good reason. In my opinion it doesn't feel good playing on a world you know is only temporary.

No one likes their voice. It's a scientific fact. Azie voice sounds cool. She sounds like the daughter from Rosan.

If you just remind your self that it's perfectly natural that you don't like your voice but that it can't be really that bad. Just try not to think too much and just focus on doing the best video you can.

BlackLatosWhy did google+ ruin everything ! Why didn't they keep youtube as it is where you could have a cool name now you have a crappy name system. Where you have to send an email to change your name it really sucks my channel name is TheGamingAleks Apple WTF MAN and I can't change it anymore fuck google+

It is very annoying. The thing I hate the most is google pretty much forcing you to use your real name. If you want to use a nickname it is still hard. For example I have a youtube channel I wanted to name "Invisible Cat". But the only version it would accept was "Invisible .Cat" Also they have made it hard to communicate via personal message and basically hidden the inbox so it is very hard to find. What is really stupid is they have set it up so everything you do on youtube is announced on your google + wall. How is that for privacy?

I have never run a server but I do possess some common sense which goes a long way. Here is my two sense:

-bumping and only wanting to generate traffic to server is not enough to attract people to want to actually go there.

-There are a buttjilian different servers out there to chose from. Yours has to be awesome and unique. Something you take pride in. Don't just be another server wasting space on the internet.

-What 'value' does your server have and why is it unique? Be genuine! Don't just seek traffic and only traffic. It makes you look desperate and like the common server who wants only to make money. It's kind of like youtubers and the art of attracting traffic. Most of spam and and are loud about saying "come visit my (fill in the blank)....or scream for attention. As apposed to creating something of value and then promoting it properly. Make it be like, this is your project of passion and of pride that you are doing something cool and unique and then promote it respectably without screaming for attention. Make it seem like you are fine with or without the traffic. This communicates that you value your own project your self and that it 'is' of value.

-It can't hurt to require players to first apply to play on your server. It's a possibility that people will only want to play on it more. Don't you only want good mature players? You don't want players who will be a problem on the server!

-I see .......many of us see..........on PMC........server owners who advertise heavily about their server and advertise huge bonuses and even to become staff. In my eyes, this tells me that these servers are the 'last' server I would ever want to play on. Also, too much 'attention seeking' reflects poorly about your server. I'll be honest and say you have crossed that line by posting this. I have no interest in investigating about what your server is.

-But this is my help. What is so special about your server. Is there something in a server that you want specifically and that you can not find in other servers? Are you creating your own server to meet a need that you yourself can not find in other servers? Why? Why? Why? That is the most important question! "why?" is the most important question in everything.

Explaining changes and updates about the project are legitimate updates right? I don't abuse the updates or anything but mentioning progress and update in the log after a few weeks should grant the ability to have a chance to have it seen again! I updated with an announcement about changes to the project and it didn't get on the projects list and no knew exposure.

I've been wondering about this "update log" also and what will make it appear again on the projects thread. I updated one of my projects in the update log after about a month of posting the project. I didn't see my project appear in the projects list on the site. What gives?

Leah_ThePonyLoverHelp! i installed a lot's of mods, but idk how to make them work , i searched how to do it on the youtube , but i don't really understand it, someone please answer!

Calm down ok! ....Just chill out and understand some things......

    -first use forge
-use the correct mod version for the version of minecraft you're playing on.
-get familiar with installing mods. There are so many tutorials availabe.

    Very important:
-Create a "base setup" for your Minecraft that you want to install mods. For me this is to have forge/optifine installed together. Which require a slightly complicated method to install and different from most mods. But still not hard. Also my base setup include ries minimap.
-make a backup of your ".minecraft" with only this "basesetup". You will need it. I promise you that!
-Next, you must only install mods one at a time ok!!!!!!!!! Be patient with it. Load the game each time you install one new mod to test it. It is critical to do it one at a time because sometimes Minecraft will not work if you install a group of mods together at once but will work if you install the same mods one at a time. This will allow you to know what mods work together and which ones don't.
-Pick a list of mods that are your favorite. A priority list of say (10) mods. The list should be mods that work together and Minecraft works. Back up again your .Minecraft with these mods installed.

-Finally, continue adding new mods one at a time as you desire.
-Most mod installation only need you to drop the file in your "mods" folder. It's so easy!

Follow this advise and you should be fine!

    Hey guys,

So if you recall, I'm interested in helping get a server going for geocaching in Minecraft and also one that is for mature players only...mature community.....have to apply to play on.....etc.

I expressed that I want to find the right person that will own and host the server. And my role would be to make the map for it. My intentions originally were to build a really really huge map for this and it would be the map I've been putting in all of my time in. These plans have changed slightly.

First, I'm not able to build super massive maps because my computer doesn't have enough ram for it. Even the map I've been working on has to be divided in two different maps. My skills and capabilities in using WP have improved a lot.

Now, what I'm thinking is to do a map exclusively for a geocaching server as mentioned above and it would not take me very long. Not necessarily the Cthulhu Mythos map I've been working on but possibly. We can work something out.

I'd like to find someone to host this server and discuss ideas for the map and server etc.

Here is the kind of person I want to host this server:

-You are 21 or older....and mature
-experienced in running a 'good' server.
-competent to run this server 'long term'
-commitment to running this server 'long term'
-strong interest in "geocaching in Minecraft" (because this is the purpose of the map)
-It helps if you have an already existing server community that I can check out.....YouTube......anything that would help me get to know you and validates your qualifications to do this. It would be hard for me to select a blank face who has nothing going online. I'm not a skype person but I could do skype if it is necessary. I don't like to use skype though if I don't have to.
Also, because you are experienced, you ideally already run a server community with multiple maps. If it works to simply add this geocaching map to an already healthy mature server......that might work. I'm flexible.

    The server:

-geocaching in Minecraft is the number one purpose for this map.
    -Mature players only
    -server map does not reset.
-I'd like if players can play Minecraft and even build. How to do meet all these things will require collaboration of ideas.
-Ability to play on server, players must apply and be vetted. It should be a privilege to be white-listed for the server and develop a strong community of mature, trustworthy players who take pride in the server. I know for a fact that 'patience' and a 'time wait' to join server is one of the strongest vetting techniques that exist.
-As far as map size, I know I can do 4k x 4k safely. I might be able to stretch that size out a bit but it's iffy.
-I will make the map top quality with realistic and gorgeous terrain and a wide assortment of custom trees.
-Everything else we will need to negotiate and collaborate on.

There are droves of you who think you can run a good server. Especially, the younger ones. I don't want to see this project get started and then the server only be up temporarily .....or corrupted by immature kids or whatever......I only want it done right and to be a good server that not just anyone can play. I generally don't play on servers and am picky about them....for obvious reasons!

Anyway, If you think you are the right person to host this kind of server, agree with my basic requirements above, and want to work with me. Pop me a message or email. I'll need you to be patient with me as I have several projects and commitments going on of various kinds. If you are not in a big rush, hopefully we can get this party moving forward!

I have a blog also for this server project of mine here: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/adv ... r-project/

    My email: invisibleflame@hotmail.com

P.S. Maybe I'll have a number of of people interested in hosting this project........I may need some time to allow potentials to appear. March 1st is a start as far as selecting a date for me to make a decision. In the meantime, the nature of the map is open for discussion. I could be creating the map in the meantime.

InvisibleFlameI can make the brush up to 1000 blocks instead of only 600. Sure it lags a bit but that doesn't matter because it saves time and effort in the long run

Two problems with this, one, most of the massive terrain builds you see take weeks, and even months. Why? Because they use small brushes, and make it look more detailed. Second, Q - T/E. (Time over Effort)Doing things faster, and things that require less effort don't get noticed as much.

You are preaching to the choir about the time/effort thing. Spending loads of time and effort on maps is what I'm all about. Maybe I didn't explain correctly...

Let me use the following example: Let's say I have heightmap data of a region of hilly countryside in Switzerland. I'm using hills as an example because I don't need to max out the height for them but I can increase my available width. So the hills of Switzerland have unique features that I may want to use actual topographical data to make custom brushes to make those kind of hills. Those kinds of terrain would be hard to try and recreate without a custom brush. So how much topographical information am I going to include in an one particular custom brush if I can only go 600 blocks max? If I try to include a portion of data that is very detailed and is say a 5 mile area of land, representing that portion with 600 blocks is going to be 'under scale' in Minecraft. The hills will be small in game. The details all will be small, too blocky. It won't feel like I'm walking along a realistic terrain but rather walking through a scale model relatively speaking. Some don't see this issue of 'scale' a problem in MC. Personally, I would like a hill to take some time to walk over...and for it to feel expansive and more scaled to real life.

Now, If I can have my brush size be 1000 or even more rather than only 600. Before I may have chose to only have my brush include part of the hill. I can now include a bigger part of land with more details in that brush. It will still be large and to the scale I want. But I am gaining the details that I otherwise could not have duplicated. The best I could have done before was to just shape a region of land from scratch and hope to closely suggest the 'feeling' of the landscape I am trying to replicate. I have spent hours and hour creating custom brushes from scratch that come close to the terrain I was trying to recreate. Now I can download the topography exactly.....include large areas of that data in one brush. And still have good 'scale'.

I hope this makes sense as there are just some situations where this is a huge benefit.

Just to clarify why having the ability to increase brush size is such a big deal is because it means being able to have a custom brush contain more topographical features and details without losing the proper scale of that terrain 'in-game'. So before I could only have a custom brush be one portion of a mountain to have good scale. Now I can include more........more of the mountain within the same brush. Improves workflow....and allows me to copy real terrain better than I ever could have done from scratch.
