    Hi there,

    The first problem I see is that you have a mac which already limits you to performing dual recordings (one video and the other voice) at the same time.

    I'm not sure whether the mac supports Open Broadcasting System and XSplit which allows screen and voice recording at the same time, but if your Mac supports it, then use it. It will definitely save your time to record it separately and then combine it later.

    Because I am in PC and I have Nvidia Graphics card, I can use Shadowplay which is the best by far in my opinion for crips 1080p at 60 fps with sound together.

    Another alternative that I did as I needed webcam sometimes is to record a local desktop recording and using OBS for webcam and voice that I combined afterwards during editing.

    One trick to sync between both the desktop and the voice over is to do like a clap. That way when you were trying to find the local webcam recording of you clapping and the spike in the audio soundbyte at the beginning indicating that you clapped, you can sync them easily.

    There's no easy way really to combine both recordings together. Moreover, I had trouble trying to sync a 360 video that I just made over my Shadowplay recording that I needed due to the voice, but I managed to do it =D

    P.S. Just read your post again and apparently the question was regarding Skype and your mic. Technically speaking, you can set you rmac to listen to the desktop sounds as the voices from Skype will be picked up there and possibly yours. In my experience, I'm able to pick up my own voice and the others with Shadowplay. If not, the only way is possibly a dual software recording and use the clapping technique to sync it together.

    Neptune_SageI know there has been many threads about what are free to use recording software's but not many threads can be seen as what you use so I am starting one!

    Anyways I am using NCH Video Recorder, an awesome webcam and screen recorder + they have lots of "side" programs like audio editors and picture editors and converters too. So far I am satisfied for what I paid for (Debut video recorder) and with also other "home use" licence programs!

    NOTE: If you would like to know more about the software and other great tools for editing and recording videos and taking and editing pictures as well I advise you to take a peak at video!

    There are three that I've tried. My fav is NVIDA Shadowplay which you can record locally without webcam or via Twitch for the webcam functionality to work.
    Second is Open Broadcasting System where webcam feature enabled for both local and streaming.
    Finally, the ones used by Linus and many professionals is XSplit Broadcaster which can also do both and much much more.
    The second one is open source. The first one is if you have an NVIDIA card above 600 series and must have the GTX (not GT or GTS) logo.
    The last one is subscription based but you can crack it if you are willing to.

    If you like to, we can promote each other channels and collab with my gaming buddies. Note that it will depend on them as we are casual gamers from Malaysia and Singapore and I'm still doing my studies. I usually edit the videos although they have some video ideas that differ from me.

    4. Plan ahead on the camera positions as its a replay =)

    As a YouTuber who have been switching from daily to weekly to random schedule, go with when you have time.

    The trick is to keep your section of your videos (quality, delivery, intro, outro) consistent, short and concise.

    I have edited and uploaded many video variations as I played cities skylines, simcity, titanfall, csgo and recently minecraft and if you are willing to watch from the start to recent upload, I changed my styles until I found something that suits me, represent me and with honesty to the audience. Remember, the audience is number one.

    Finally, try to do something that lacks on the YouTube space. Like minecraft 360 degrees but in actual 4k quality.

    I'm still learning to change myself. So the first video you make is breaking the ice. Will have to see where you will go from now =)

    I would like to see your animation in Minecraft because it will take it another level. Now I'm no animator but I'm a video editor myself. So it would be interesting to see how you grow your talent and hopefully collaborate with someone that does the other bits.

    Here's an example that I made recently but with 360 degrees. Probably overkill....
