By the sounds of what you're doing, save yourself some cash and go with a HDD. You get far more room for the price per megabyte.

Hey DarkShadow, I'd love to have you make some custom images for CrystalCraftMC. We've had some things we've wanted to be redone for a while.

    Request Form:
    • Type: YouTube channel art, Facebook banner
    • Size: 2560x1440 px (for YouTube, see guidelines), 851x315 px (for Facebook, see guidelines)
    • Additional theming details if any (fonts, colors, textures, etc): Emphasizing the "crystal" element of our server is a big must, and many of the central elements of our server are based around our crystal. If you could incorporate this into as many places as possible, that would be great. Also, slight emphasis on the colors blue, gold, and white (like in our logo).
    • Links to Images: See logo here
    • A little background into the server, channel, or buildteam (Including name, server IP, etc): Name of the server is CrystalCraftMC, IP is ccmc.pw. Those are preferred details that would be nice to have in the image. Another thing you could possibly incorporate would be the skin of the Minecraft account "CrystalCraftMC", and it may make a useful design element for making the banners.

Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with!

Applications are still available for the people willing to go the distance.

Agreed – this would be another great way to allow for greater sizes in the banners without affecting server space on PMC!

ParilThis should be resolved within a few weeks.

    -P

Awesome news to hear – thanks for the response, Paril!

    Hey Bubba,

You not follow my instructions as I listed in the original post. If you still want to consider committing to CrystalCraft, please register on our website, play on our server a bit, and then apply.

Here's an example of a good application, for anyone looking to apply.

    Example Application
    • IGN: jflory7
    • Age: 16
    • Skype: jflory7
    • Time Zone: US Eastern
    • Past Experience: Owner of CrystalCraftMC
    • Have you ever been banned: Yes, but rather, the question you should be asking was if the person was banned for anything meaningful. I have been banned for merely playing on a server before... but have I ever been banned before for a good reason? The answer to that is no.
    • Qualifications: Over a year of experience of running and managing Minecraft servers, extensive knowledge in server creation and setup (e.g. plugin configuration and optimization), minimal knowledge in plugin development (see my portfolio here), novice in network administration and custom server setup through control panels like Multicraft, knowledge in marketing for Minecraft servers
    • Referrals: For a referral of my application, you can email the account for my server by sending an email to admin(at)crystalcraftmc(dot)com.

Care to elaborate on how you can make one's server packed and busy? Details are important. What can you do that a normal server owner may not know what to do? Let everyone know what you have to offer.

Okay, you have found my ultimate weakness. I <3 music. So, here's my extensive list of recommendations that I hope some of you may check out!

    Indie Rock
    • Passion Pit (Take a Walk, Carried Away, Sleepyhead): These guys are different, but fantastic. There's some deep meanings behind their songs.
    • Matt & Kim (Daylight, Cameras): An upbeat, energizing drum&keyboard duo.
    • Two Door Cinema Club (Undercover Martyn, What You Know, Something Good Can Work): A awesome band with some fantastic rhythms that make you want to go.
    • Vampire Weekend (A-Punk, Oxford Comma, Giving Up the Gun, Step, Diane Young): A relaxed and laidback rock band. For lack of a better way to describe them, they're very... college-y, in a good way.
    • Death Cab for Cutie (I Will Follow You Into the Dark, Crooked Teeth, Sound of Settling): Relaxed and deep music. Love them.
    • Phoenix (1901, Lisztomania, If I Ever Feel Better): I haven't listened to them excessively, but they've got a wide range of music styles in their lifetime. Worth checking out.

    Electronica / House
    • Daft Punk (One More Time, Digital Love, Around the World): The gods of house music as we know it today. These guys are fantastic, and if you look up Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, you'll probably recognize it.
    • Deadmau5 (Ghosts 'n' Stuff, Strobe [all ten minutes], I Remember): Probably one of the most well-known house artists, he's got a nice sound to his music that varies between albums. Love him.
    • Digitalism (Pogo, 2 Hearts, Circles): A German electronica band that I've been listening to forever. They have an upbeat and sometimes serious approach to their stuff.
    • The Postal Service (Such Great Heights, Clark Gable, The District Sleeps Alone Tonight): Not sure if this is the right genre, but they have plenty of electronic influences in their music. They have a relaxed and deep vibe to their music, and I love them sooooo much. Definitely listen to them.

    Miscellaneous
    • Gorillaz (Feel Good Inc., On Melancholy Hill, Clint Eastwood): These guys changed my music tastes forever. DEFINITELY check them out. They're an alternative hip hop band, which means a lot of things. All of their albums are different.
    • Modest Mouse (Float On, World at Large, Dashboard, 3rd Planet): These guys are old and awesome. Some people call them indie folk, others 90's alternative, and other things as well. Regardless, I call them some sort of rock, and they're fantastic. They cover a wide range of things. Definitely worth checking out.
    • Radiohead (Karma Police, No Surprises, Idioteque, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling into Place): These guys are an alternative band of sorts, and absolutely fantastic. They have a style unlike any other, and getting lost in their music is quite easy.

    Update!

I was able to contact Paril through Skype, and he told me that it's basically been a misunderstanding the whole time… he thought that it was something on my end, but it turns out it's something really obscure. He's going to get the Web Admin to look at it tomorrow.

So excited to finally see progress on this!

Unfortunately, I have tried many, many, many, many times for what has been almost a year with no results. :/ It's something one of the higher-up PMC staff are going to have to fix.

    Hi,

Has there been any further developments on this? Also, where can I check to hear a response back from one of the staff? Thanks!

Hate to derail the thread, but that's exactly what I aim my server to be – it's all about survival. I don't want to advertise much, but if you want to check out my server, click the banner in my signature.

If you're unable to port forward and you don't want to use Hamachi, you're then limited to buying from a server host. I know I pay around $50 for a 1GB server every year.

This is kind of a hard question to pose to a forum – you're reaching out to several different types of players and rarely will there be a player the same as another.

If I were you, I'd start up a Minecraft server based on a type of server you yourself would want to play on, OP. Be it Bukkit, semi-vanilla, Bukkit, or Tekkit, the options are only limited by your technical skill and ability to grow and foster a community.

I'd say choose your server type and then ask for what players want to see on that server type. It'd make your life a lot easier!
