im 18, i started learning java when i was 12 to code runescape private servers. Learning coding is like learning a new language, and it will hone your mind in more ways then you can imagine. If you want to make use of your youth, and put your years into effort that will drasticly shape your future; go to the book store and buy a "How to learn C#/jaa/whatever-language ". I guarantee it will be the best $30 investment you will ever make.
Or you could be like me, and put off buying that book. Go ahead, dont buy it, keep sitting around all day doing non-profiting childhood things that you wont even remember anyways. But if you want to make videogames (and lets be honest, its to make the millions $) you NEED to learn coding. There is no age limit to learning, and anyone that has the initiative can learn it. EVERYONE starts at the base level, scripting is closer to grammer than math or language; so adults have no real advantage.
Go bold; Learn scripting. Dont be meek and limit yourself to 2d games without scripting.
Yes, you could make 2d games easily without using coding. anyone can, and thats why nobody plays those types of games anymore. The profit is only in the high end level videogames, and some of the large game companies are powerhouses producing billions.
So you tell me, do you want to sit around doing 12 year old things for another 6 years, or would you like to make billions of dollars?
Shoot for the top, land among the stars.
