You have too much RAM. 2 sticks of 8 gigs is ideal. Get a power supply that is NOT corsair, unless you want it to fail really early on. ANYTHING that is not corsair will do. Also, you might want to omit the solid state drive. It's not as useful as it seems

Oh god, do NOT get a Corsair power supply. I built my first rig with a $150 Corsair AX750 Gold and it only lasted like 3 months, then just stopped working.

    First!

EDIT: Now that I have secured FIRST!, I shall post my recommendations.

EDIT2: You might wanna check your motherboard. I'm pretty sure Asus doesn't make intel proccesor compatible motherboards, and even if they do it won't work as well as a motherboard made by intel. Good processor choice though. 3770k is pretty much ideal.

EDIT3: I'm more of an NVIDIA guy but I'm not gonna talk you out of your choice of an AMD because yours looks nice and shiny. But your build looks kind of conservative, so you really might want to think about getting an NVIDIA so you can SLI it later.

Don't encourage him. He can start his own thread. This is MY thread. Not to be insensitive, but I've got enough to worry about here without additional issues stacked on top of mine.

I'm a serious gamer. If a new, better, graphics card comes out, I need to upgrade to it or risk being dominated. I realise this may not be true for everyone but that's not really my point.

Your PC probably wasn't built for gaming. My point is that I could build a better and cheaper computer than any Mac. I'm not saying they're not good, but they're not excellent, and they're overpriced.

Mac os generally performs better than Windows or Linux, and it's especially user-friendly and has great programs. As for the hardware, that's completely subjective. A macbook pro is better than 80% of windows computers, but those ones aren't built for gaming. The crux of the issue is that I could build a better and cheaper gaming computer than any mac, and the difference will be more than worth the os.

I'm not hating on Mac and if I ever need a school computer I will get some form of macbook no contest. But I don't need Apple interfering with my gaming when they're inferior. Their hardware is decent but the point of a gaming computer is to have cutting-edge, top-of-the-line components, or at least as good as you can afford.

For $2200 I could have a Macbook Pro or a cutting-edge gaming rig with an Intel Extreme processor and a NVIDIA GTX 690 graphics card, plus 32 gigs of ram and other assorted epic components, possibly including Razer peripherals. It's no contest. I'd rather spend my 800 bucks on better components than a marginally better os.

Nobody is saying that windows is better for gaming, we're saying that anything other than mac is better for gaming. You don't need a fancy OS and programs for a gaming computer if you can get a computer just as good minus the os and programs for $800-1000 less. It is true you'll never get a virus on a Mac, but I'd rather pay $60 a year for antivirus than pay $800-1000 more once, and have to replace my computer in 2 or 3 years because the hardware is out of date. Macs are sealed shut, you can't upgrade them. If you could put Mac OS on a computer you built yourself, then it would be the ultimate computer, but I'd rather have a self-built with Windows than a mac-built with OSX.
