The latter- the link's of that reddit and that ryanmorrisonlaw-thingy are finally statements based on what I figured is the true-core under what Wesley and Mojand stated (studying law). That's in basic what the european and american laws would say in contradiction to that PR-hate-campaign against each of them.
Let's face it:
It is a PR-hate-campaign.
Both parties kind of lie towards the Gamers because what they say is only half of the truth behind who is right and who is wrong.
I assume I get hated for this but I am pretty sure that's the most true statement on the entire case. Especially since Mojang's lawyers should know that.
For those who think Mojang will update Bukkit: Think.
They owned it for 2 years now. They never did that themselves while also focussing on their updates.
But tbh if you don't ever have a real documental agreement then it's your very own bad.
It will come to the end that Mojang calms everyone down with a promise they will never keep or even need to keep, Minecraft will always be known and played.
But neither them nor anyone from the (now) former Bukkit-team will inform about that they'll (highly) made the deal of taking everything Wesley claims to be his down forever and stay quite about it.
Happens everywhere, all the time.
Always inform yourself by more then only one source. Read and try to understand the positions of both parties. Those have been my thoughts on it.
In the end there are still other games if someone is pissed. You can play it or don't. You can write things for it or don't. But don't act like you've been forced to work under free labour conditions. We all accepted it.
