Hey, do you have a Skype? I'm interested in joining the server, but I don't have access to Minecraft right now. This server looks like it has potential, and I've been looking for small communities like this for a while. We should keep in touch

I think the main problem is that there are so many network servers out there, and the network server owners usually have more money to turn them into networks in the first place. I agree though, single servers need a lot more support.

Do you guys think "friendly and entertaining players" are most prominent in a network or single server?

I agree. I think the smaller a server is, the easier it is to make friends and join the community.

About yourself: I enjoy the outdoors and playing sports like ultimate frisbee. I live in the Midwest and plan to major in Biology throughout college. I currently work at an optical office as a part-time janitor/carpenter/painter.
Previous experience: I've been playing Minecraft since 2009. Ever since I started playing, I always wanted to improve the community by improving other peoples' servers and helping them succeed. I've worked on a numerous servers, each one giving me a different perspective on the community. Here's a brief list of server's I've played on: Kingdom of OG, Domnian, Unicraft, MiracleRealms, Bobotropolis. Most of these servers have shut down, but I still work on Unicraft as the StaffManager. Apart from managing servers, I've also had experience in running forums, plugins, and building. If you'd like to find some examples of builds, feel free to check out my account. Just a warning though, I have recently improved a lot in my building skills so some of my posts may not look as good as my potential now.
Anything else: Becoming staff on a server, in my opinion, isn't about the perks or new abilities; working as a staff member requires confidence, leadership, and experience. I love helping out players in any way possible, whether it means simply interacting with them or enforcing rules. Most servers require that staff are mature, which I believe is necessary. Nevertheless, I've found out that generosity and friendliness is always more important over strict maturity. While most of the time I'm friendly, I'm mature when absolutely necessary. No matter what server I'm on, I always remind myself to follow the rules and make the environment as friendly as possible for the players. Everyone has their personal strengths. I consider myself prestigious in connectivity, relation, and humbleness. I love helping players, I can't give up doing so. It feels like every time a server shuts down because of lack of donations, I'm ready to help another one out. Each time, I hope that it will be successful and perhaps, one day, turn out like Mineplex. I'm great at enforcing rules while at the same time being friendly towards players. Rebellion is inevitable with provincial authority. Peace is inevitable with something as simple as generosity. Anyway, enough with the philosophy. No matter what rank I recieve, I'll be ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Whether that means helping a player being griefed or participating in construction of a spawn, I'll try to be there as much as possible.

    Your in-game Minecraft name: jwin_the_pro

    Any previous in-game names? No

Age? I'm 16 years of age, but I'll be 17 in about two weeks.

    Timezone? US Central

Why do you think you deserve staff on Kingdom Crashers? Just like any other typical applicant, I'd like to be staff because I see this server as potentially successful, and it'd be enjoyable to be a part of it as well as assist in anything you guys need. Whether this means enforcing rules or building maps for the gamemode, I can do almost anything you guys desire (besides coding). Most people consider me mature, but I try my best to be more friendly towards players rather than a strict leader. As I've learned from experience, players don't necessarily like spending their time on servers with staff who have no emotion and mechanically enforce rules.

Do you have any previous experience? You asked for evidence without sending the IP, so the best way I can prove my experience is if we contact each other through Skype. In terms of building, feel free to look at my PMC account page. If by evidence you're simply looking for the server name, here is a brief list of servers I've worked on: Bobotropolis, Kingdom of OG, Emprise, Unicraft, Dimensional Gaming Network. If you read down below, you will notice that I've been playing Minecraft for a long time. I'm familiar with almost everything in Minecraft. Since I first started playing, I've worked on so many servers I don't even remember some of them. I don't mean to be arrogant, it's just the truth.

When did you first play Minecraft? How often did you play? Although this might be hard to believe, I downloaded Minecraft in the alpha stages way back in 2009. I still miss those days, but they had their downsides. Depending on which servers I work on, I usually spend 30 minutes to 2 hours a day playing Minecraft every week. As of now, since I don't work on any servers, I haven't played in a while.

Have you ever been banned or temp-banned on the server? Yes, I've been banned on numerous servers for trying to improve their infrastructure. Many server owners were so provincial that they didn't even let me conceptualize new ideas or suggest a course of action. Nonetheless, I haven't been banned on any servers for griefing or trolling.

Do you speak any foreign languages? I don't speak any other language, sorry.

Do you have skype? Yes, I have a Skype: jwinthepro-ish

    Hypothetical Questions

You are online on the server, and you see another moderator ban another user for advertising, however; you have proof the said user never advertised, what would you do? If I had proof, I would simply submit the evidence to a higher authority and await further command. Even if the moderator was my friend, I'd do my best to enforce justice.

One of your good friends is on the server, and he/she are upset with how you handled a situation and are using vulgar language towards you in private chat, after you have asked them to stop, what would you do? If they continued the vulgar language, and if I had the authority to do so, I would punish the friend regretfully. If I don't have the authority, I would tell a higher-level staff member. Sure, it's necessary to punish them, but I would still try to maintain a positive relationship with that person.

You are the only moderator currently on the server, and a situation gets out of hand in which all of the players are panicking about something a user said that is not true. How do you calm down this situation? If I was the only mod and something to that extent happened, I would try to contact another staff member. If no other staff members could reply, I'd try my best to individually message each player and tell them that it's going to be okay.

    Main Questions

Do you think you are a better candidate for staff then the others applying? I'm going to say no because I try my best to be modest. If I said yes, my attitude would come off as rude or arrogant. Besides, I haven't met any of the applicants. No one knows who skilled we are until we actually have first-hand experience.

Do you have any experience working with any website forums? Yes, many of the servers I worked on had forums. In fact, forum-posting is one of my favorite fields in Minecraft. I'm good at creating tutorials or answering questions.

How will you be able to help out the server once you become a moderator, and do you have any suggestions to make the staff team better? As a moderator, I'll do whatever it takes to improve the server and comply with the expectations of the rest of the staff and players. Although I might not agree with everything on server, I assure you that I will try my best to enjoy my job and be friendly to players. Whether it means warning players when they break rules, or answering difficult questions, I'll try my best to be there for them.

What do you think a team needs to have? In my opinion, the main aspect a prestigious team needs, in any subject, is cooperation and communication. Furthermore, the team needs to get along if it wants to make any progress. Many of the servers I worked on were full of staff complaining and arguing, which just made progress worse.

Finally, is there anything else you would like to add? Thanks for taking your time to read this, I'm sure it's time-consuming.

Position Applying for: I'd like to be a Beta-Tester, but I'm also pretty decent at building and working with plugins.
Why do you want to join us? Becoming staff on a server, in my opinion, isn't about the perks or new abilities; working as a staff member requires confidence, leadership, and experience. What is your best area of expertise? I've mentioned some skills I'm good at above, but whenever I'm asked this question I typically say I'm good at organizing and managing events. If that's not Minecrafty-enough, just consider me a good builder. I used to be good at pvp, but I progressively got worse as my computer slowed down.
How many hours per week? 14-20 hours a week is my estimate, so about 2 or more hours a day.
Able to use Teamspeak? Yes, although I prefer using Skype.
Something about yourself: Thank you for taking your time to read my application. I realize most applicants above want higher positions, which is fine. As I mentioned earlier, I will help out in anyway possible, even if I'm not staff. I consider myself athletic as I run cross-country, track, and used to play other sports. I'm in my junior year in high school right now, which is obviously very demanding in terms of work-load. Every summer I enjoy going to national parks to explore the impressive geology this Earth has provided us. In fact, I will be hiking across the Grand Canyon this summer. This relates to Minecraft in that I enjoy the different types of structures people can create. I will try my best to help out your server, and thanks again!

    5. How much time can you dedicate to building?: I can build up to 2 hours a day.
    6. What can you do to help us?: I can do a variety of things, whether it means building castles or towns, writing storylines, or helping moderate players.
    7. Tell us about your experience: I've been playing Minecraft since 2009. Considering this is my building application, I probably need to point out that I have been building medieval houses and castles for almost a year now. I'm not the best, but with the effort I can certainly get the job done.
    8. Examples of work: My account page has bad examples, but here are some other examples..

    9. What are: depth, scale and detail?: When I hear "depth," I think of castle wall designs or house walls. Anything from stairs, fences, or slabs can help make a wall seem more appealing with depth. Scale is how close a build is to a real life model. One block is considered one meter^2, so if I wanted to build a 1:1 scale I'd have to make a house seem like the right size for Minecraft players. If I were to build a massive 10:1 scale house, there would probably be a lot more room for detail but a lot more space to fill up. Detail is similar to depth, a building technique in which you add certain blocks to a creation to make it more appealing. Trapdoors, torches, paintings, and banners are just a few examples of the many blocks I use for detail.

We have seven builders, but only one is active, unfortunately. Nevertheless, the active builder has built massive towns within a week. I know it sounds like nothing, but a combined effort could get things done rather quickly.

Sorry, but by comp do you mean money?

Depending on how much we want finished, the map has a lot of work to do. We want players to be able to find settlements about every 5 minute walk. Some of the settlements will be small, some will be massive. The spawn will be the largest city, and we have just started on that. Don't worry, we have done most of our work outside of spawn so far. I would say we could finish the map within a month or two if we hire a dedicated build team that can work for us, especially since we only have a few active builders.

Unfortunately, I am not able to post screenshots of the builds because I don't have any. Nonetheless, there is a Dynmap link right here that will let you interact and explore it: http://mc.emprisemc.com:8123/

The gamemode will mainly be about the quests and storyline, which is why we just call it "rpg" when players ask. Nevertheless, there are a lot of other aspects from other gamemodes too. For instance, it is prison in the sense that players can go into "mining pits" to mine for materials. They can then sell these materials and upgrade to better classes. The gamemode is similar to mob arena in that players will be able to explore underground dungeons and fight custom mobs and bosses for rewards. I said it was similar to factions, but that's only possible with our custom plugin idea.

Considering the map is 5000x5000, and there will be a plethora of towns and underground dungeons to explore, we estimate that the server won't be "overcrowded" until there are about 200 players online. Even then, we can duplicate the map and split the players on the two if it gets too crowded.

This is different than any other rpg because of the mixture of gamemodes. It's not just a "hey you're going to do this and that for the quests." Rather, players will have hunderds of options to do things. They can fight in arenas, fight bosses with their friends, build houses on their plots, tame "pets", do side quests, follow the main storyline, simply explore the landscape, collect and mine for materials, and much more. There aren't many rpg servers out there to begin with, and the majority of them are bad anyway.

We're definitely interested in adding NPCs and quests, as that would be the main source of the storyline and rpg.
