1. Create a new profile on the launcher and try to log on to it, see if that fixes it.
2. If Step 1 doesn't fix this, go to wherever your .minecraft is stored, and navigate to the 'versions' folder, then go into the version you are having trouble with (1.7.2), and delete the .jar file, then run the launcher.
3. If the above 2 steps failed, then try reinstalling Java.
4. If even that didn't work, try deleting your entire .minecraft folder and reinstalling it fro http://www.minecraft.net
If none of the above help... well... I have no idea.
I've tried every single one of these at least six times D: Can't hurt to try again?
... wow... those 4 steps I have literally heard fix almost every minecraft issue... I have no idea what the problem is...
