I'm assuming by "semi-vanilla" you mean that players should still be able to claim land, lock chests, and permit their friends to build with them? If that's the case I would highly recommend Grief Prevention. Don't bother with WorldGuard, or any of the other ones. Grief Prevention is stupid simple to use and very effective.

Oh I just had another idea! What about Snow Control by zwollner? It's designed to perpetually accumulate the snow, but you can adjust how quickly it accumulates. Maybe you can set it to never accumulate at all?

Let me get this straight. You like the visual effect of snow falling in your vision, but you don't like the snow piling up on the ground around you? I've not heard of a mod will fix that, but I do have an idea that you could try. What if you were to make your own resource pack that has the "rainfall" resources replaced with the "snowfall" ones, and then you could hang out in a place that rains. I dunno if that would work, but it's worth a shot!

Personally, I use Quicktime because it's built-in. If you're running on a Mac you should definitely use this. Otherwise, all I can say is I've heard good things about Fraps and OBS. Good luck!

Why do so many people refuse to pay for software (or other digital content)? I mean, if it's free and it works great, then sure, use it. But usually someone spent days, weeks, or even months coding something. Sometimes it takes a team of coders. If it suits a need you have, don't you think they should be compensated for that? And no, I don't think "but I have no money" is an acceptable excuse. People like you are the reason that App stores are filled with so-called "freemium" apps. People like you are why we can't have nice things. </rant>

JamenWith Mojang's API, it is possible to see a user's name history based from their UUID.

Here is an example of mine (obviously only one name, because you can't change your name yet)

A better question might be what he hopes to gain by jailbreaking. If he wants to reskin the OS and "personalize" it more, then I'd say he should just get an Android. If his goal is to download pirated apps and install them, then he's a horrible person that wants to steal from starving developers. Of course, he might have another reason entirely.

I'd start with figuring out what he's trying to achieve.

I've heard it helps tremendously if you have a partner to talk to. Maybe start there? Find a partner with similar interests to work with.

Find a proper host. They're not that expensive ($2-3/mo.), and there's a TON more that you can do with them compared to Enjin. I second the vote for WordPress, btw. It's like Bukkit for web development; there's a massive community of coders making awesome plugins.

Secondly, connect your website with social media.

Third, be awesome and consistent. Now, don't go anywhere for a long time and incrementally become more awesome.

You should only make new content if you enjoy the making of said content. Personally, my rule is this: when making new content always assume no one will look at it, like it, watch it, try it, etc. In the end, if you enjoy making the content, it shouldn't matter whether people like it, hate it, or ignore it.
