A quick update:

We have now added player based shops into our economy, so players can now set up their own trade shops to sell items to other players.

Just a quick update:
We are now a "Greylist" server, which means you can come on to the server and look around, though you cannot chat or interact with anything until you have applied to join and then been added to the whitelist of approved members.

Again, our application process is dead simple. You can either read and reply to the first topic within this thread: http://www.planetminecraft.com/forums/post2456857.html#p2456857

Or go to our website and use our automated application system at: http://www.monkeycraft.me just click the "Apply" link in the top menu bar.
It's quick and dead easy to use, read the rules, fill out a short form with your details and your done!

Hope to meet some new friends soon!

Thanks for the application mortrik, your building skills are nothing short of amazing. I think you are a bit too advanced for our small server though, we're more of a begginers/intermediate skills server.
I'm pretty sure plenty of server will jump at the chance of getting a builder of your quality on their server though!

Minecraft/Discussion Should Mojang stop updating minecraft so frequently??

Well put. I think updates are great, lets just have them at a fixed time like once a year.
Mojang just release updates as and when they feel like it, when the 1.7 update came out it pretty much killed off a lot of servers from a combination of players who had no idea how to rollback to 1.6.4 and others who were too impatient to wait for a 1.7 version of bukkit. Also, it would help if Mojang at least held back public releases of major updates and make the code available to the likes of Bukkit, etc... so we get releases of Bukkit and other muliplayer versions in tandem with the updates sent out to players clients.
While the next update probably won't need a major Bukkit update, a lot of us had to do full map resets for 1.7 and with my main map only a few months old, I'm already getting questions from players about what are we doing about 1.8 and will we be resetting the map again.

SwooceRoDahWell sooner or later, Mojang is going to have to rewrite the entire game in a more stable language.

That would make far more sense. Let's hope Minecraft 2.0 is a fully rewritten game, though my hunch is Mojang will just keep tacking on updates to a java version.

Note: Like the the vast majority of Bukkit servers we're still stuck on 1.6.4, but we use Dev builds and we'll try and get 1.7 as soon as it's released.

You're more than welcome to come and check us out. We only opened our server up just over three weeks ago and don't yet have a huge amount of players. Even as the server grows we plan on keeping the server as a small/medium sized server so our members will still feel a like they are a valued community member and not just a random player.

We're a non-griefing and non-pvp server, (and our small team of adult staff enforce those rules!), and our little community is very friendly and helpful, it's generally a nice relaxed atmosphere.
We offer a "vanilla style" survival experience. We try and run as few plugins as possible, mainly just Bukkit Essentials, ProtectionStones for player land claiming, and LWC for chest and door protection. We also have a PlotMe based creative world with large 80x80 plots.

We're a whitelist server which helps keep griefing and other problems to a minimum, so you will need to apply before you get access to the server, and after posting an application you should get a reply within 12 hours to let you know you're added to the whitelist.

Found the problem, it was due to the ProtectionStones plugin.
