You took my post quite literally, the fact that you thought I was being serious about a $1000 CPU is beyond foolish. Also read my other post above, I also explained I was not on about the need to upgrade after a year.

ParilWhoever made the comment about PCs going "outdated" after a year time, very untrue.


I did, and I meant it in the sense that those parts will have newer releases in a years time with better specs than the ones you just spent money on, not in the sense that you will have to upgrade because it won't be able to play games. It's a constant battle that will never be won because there will always be better parts on the horizon.

ice i7 build you just spent $1000 on, give it a year and it will be outdated.

Give that console a year and it will be outdated by a year, stuff moves fast.


True the Xbox hardware, as with any console, will be outdated after a year (or even before). But the advantage to PC's, as mentioned in the original body of text, is that you can then update it to accommodate newer demanding games. Whereas with the consoles, the games are accommodated around the consoles hardware as they can not be updated (as of yet)

I am indeed, using Cinema 4D R12 the room is a studio I downloaded, it uses Global Illumination (not designed for slower systems) to create a nice profession smooth lighting scheme then I take the final render into Sony Vegas to apply a Soft Contrast to create the Vignette warm feel

Imbeast11Woah, awesome 3D, I'd love to be able to do 3D modeling but it's so complicated. Anyways, amazing work, Emorak, I love the intro too, it's so smooth and clean.


It is complicated at first and leaves you stunned and very confused, but with time it'll become your best friend creativity is originality, the thing that holds back the creativity is the thought that it may be "wrong" or "not up to par" with everyone else's

I'd use it if it had slightly better specs (I use a lot of Global Illumination for my renders for perfect lighting)

Also if say, 20 people use this, and are rendering at the same time, wouldn't you be overworking the CPU's?

Mine renders 4k (Ultra HD) using 100% of my AMD Phenom II x6 and it's running OC'd at 3.5GH/z, I dread to think what this will do to your renderfarm D:

I do agree but one other con for PC (which is the killer of all cons) is that, that nice i7 build you just spent $1000 on, give it a year and it will be outdated.

I don't really see the point myself, I do not believe you gain XP from your own Diamond (that would be kind of defeating the objective really) so it can stay up there for me

You gain XP through the upload itself (5) and for every Diamond and comment it's 1 XP thereafter

Pretty much what Paril said, it's very slim that it's software related. Your CPU sounds like it's being overworked and overheating which would cause it to hang up/reboot.

My solution for this would be to remove the CPU Heatsink from the board and wipe it over with Ispropyl alcohol to ensure there is not dust, dirt etc coming into contact between the two.

You don't sound very Computer literate so I would ask a friend or shop to look at it. It may be a good idea to have some new thermal paste put on (depending how old the System is, this may not be the case).


If it runs in safe mode it may be a start up problem, you can manually turn off which drivers/programs run at start up but once again, I would either have someone do Remote Assistance and do it for you or take it to a shop.

I do not recommend touching anything if you do not know what you are doing
