I agree to this guy here, but I prefer Avast paired with Malwarebytes. I prefer not to use MSE because it failed av-test.org's detection tests.

I use Firefox for productivity stuff, I use Chrome for normal browsing and such. So both.

Well, either windows 8 or 7 will do, if you are a type of guy who likes pretty colors as your OS, 8. 7 for me is more on the productivity range due to its simplicity. Both are versatile... but I'm for 7 the most.

Well, close bet to a free video editor, Windows Movie Maker, for paid software, Sony Vegas.

Both are versatile in their respective commercial pricing, but its the rendering that matters.

mp4 is more common and its quality is better that wmv, but wmv has a smaller size, its quality is decent though.

Nice setup, it will play those games easily. and running glsl shaders mod in minecraft will be no problem at all. :3
