I'd say modern style. I don't mean the typical generic white rectangular building with a big grey rectangle up front that got hideously overdone once, but just in general using more modern materials like sandstone, concrete, copper, terracotta etc instead of just wood/cobble and/or stone bricks all the time.

Vexes are my choice as they are just far too annoying, more than all the other combined and tanky. At least with phantoms you can sleep (Unless on mass multiplayer) or deal with them easily with even the most basic sword and shield. Or if you're making a new single-player world now just switch them off.

I bought the game at the end of Sept 2010, after a friend showed it to me As for what kept me playing, an older player, even then,, I loved the sandbox "infinite" feel of it. By making a crafting bench you could create even more things a just endlessly travel on Java worlds. Back in Alpha, there was nothing like it when you entered a more snowy area and when the snow did start to fall, slowly the chimes of the classic c-18 music came in, especially Sweden.

After half-a-dozen worlds through Alpha/Beta, ironically it was the 2nd saved world I kept that became my long-term world today, still played consistantly 15 years after it's creation and perhaps one of the longest running survival worlds out there. I don't reguard this as a "forever world" as that's a modern term and this world existed before the term, a modern term, was even thought of. I prefer "long-term world" for mine. It's not a city or town either it's a continually developing world and coming up with new ways to expand the world through building and add lore is also what keeps me invested and playing.

    Free Space (And/or Blocks)
    Free Space (And/or Blocks)

Sword is always before shovel for me though and all food above slot 8. I'm also on a very long-term late stage world, so my priorities might be seen as very different.

Sundry: Sticks: 2 slots above slot 1 with water bucket to the left, arrows above that and above slot 1 directly, Planks top left of inventory, totem (Seldom used) top right, shulkers all over with aYelytra and maybe rockets unless they're away.

You couldn't be more wrong. I've been playing for 14 almost 15 years, before there was an enderdragon even. If I still play the game a coupler of times a week at least, which I do, and that I have one of the lonest running survival worlds started in java alpha version, i think that tells you something about me and how I play tahn your generalization.

Mainly build and adventure, I have an almost 14 year singleplayer survival world (As of October this year) that keeps me busy. Some of which I'm starting to show in my wall posts here. I prefer to play alone and only on singleplayer.

Late September 2010 and I still have my first and second saved worlds (Amongst other beta worlds from back then), the 2nd saved world become my long-term world which I've constantly played and updated since starting it in October 2010.

A simple one - the timber datapack, makes cutting down trees so satisfying.

Maybe make crates quite big and store a lot like shulkers but make them more difficult to move? The only danger with adding new stuff similar to existing is not to make the old obsolete or usless at the same time.
