The problem with FNaF is that it's simply oversaturated. The first FNaF was actually pretty cool, but as time progressed and Markiplier and MatPat began to bring attention to it, demand for another game went up. Scoot Cawthon decided that he should make another game, then another one, then another one, then a crappy RPG, then another one.
All the games after the first one lost the sense of mystery that the first one brought, because they were unimaginative and the fanbase and MatPat made the game series look like a 8th grade furry's fanfic, with their agonizingly cringeworthy art and theories. When it was really popular 3 1/2 years ago, I would rant on these very forums about how terrible it was, and how 1 in every 3 players had the same damn Golden Freddy skin (I frequented Wooodycraft which was one of the biggest Minecraft servers ever). Thankfully, it's pretty obscure nowadays, and only the die-hard fans remain, since all the others have probably moved on to Undertale or Fortnite by this point.
