    The next part of the New Omsk City is almost complete, will be taking pictures of the project soon, and upload them here as usual.

    Once done, I will start my brand new Viltrum-inspired project (starting with the terrain) that I've mentioned a few times in my wall-posts (please follow my wall-posts to stay up-to-date because I do actually post my thoughts on here semi-often).

    One snag is the name, I don't just want to call it something like "Viltrum Omsk" even if it admittedly would be kinda funny but I am having a hard time coming up with a decent "alien but still distinctly human" name.

    I have mentioned it, but it will be sad sort of abandoning the idea of a forever-world and instead having two, as the whole point of me deciding on making the New Omsk City project my forever-world was showing that I could stick to something in this game, but fact is that this new project will be enjoyable, as it lets me build a city with my own architecture without things like roads or public transit, things that I've generally considered to be the most tedious parts of building a city.

    For the part that I'm working on now, the "other city that's next to the big main one", I've decided to go for a slightly different style more akin to Mirrors Edge (1) instead of Mirrors Edge Catalyst.

    I decided that I sort of have to play through it again to get a feel for it, and honestly, I do not think that game lives up to the sequel.

    Admittedly this probably has to do with me not growing up with it, which I do really think is a very big part in what games you like, but I'm being honest.

    i think i'll finish the part i'm working on now, which is like a part of the city-map that isn't actually part of the city but instead a corner of a different city, and then I'll try to sit down and start drawing on a worldpainter terrain for "Viltrum"

    The idea of starting a brand new project where I make a world based on Viltrum from Invincible (going to use the same resource pack though) is probably happening.

    I've talked to some people, friends and other builders, who all support the idea, telling me I can do both projects at the same time, and yeah you know what, alright, I'll do it.

    I will just be brazen and admit that it is a bit of a tough choice, since this more or less just confirms that I'm unable to sit still and work on a single project for any lengthy period of time, but at the end of the day, who cares? I get to enjoy the games in more ways than one.

    Turns out worldpainter wasn't broken and I was a bit of an idiot as I said.

    This is terrible news of course since it's just one more thing pulling me in the direction of starting a brand new project, as mentioned in my last wall-post.

    sigh*

    idk what's wrong with me. The New Omsk-project has been so long in the making. And now, after having barely done anything on the actual map that I kept telling myself would be this forever-world-project, I'm already looking at new horizons.

    An old friend mocked me for it many years back. Turns out I still carry that Godforsaken curse.

    I kinda hate myself for genuinely considering making a brand new world. New terrain, new lore based on Invincible (yes I've been getting into that series now), only keeping some aspects like the white look and the parade ground that I just uploaded.

    I can't ever just stick to something. It's genuinely so stupid.

    "Hey maybe I should try my luck at making another world in worldpainter, I have a great idea for something unique that might actually fit the lore of my world!"

    Naturally, worldpainter broke and now I can't use it because of java again, and I'm not tech-savvy enough to fix it. Sent an email, see if I'll get any simple solutions

    You really can't underestimate how crap I am at computer-tech, which is surprising seeing as how I've made it this far. But yeah when I see an error like that I just sort of passively give up and hand it over to someone else to look for a solution. It's probably (?) that I have to install another version of Java? (I have 8, 17 and 26) but I'm not sure if that's it.

    "400 bad request" on Chrome constantly, asked to "forward the error" to a webmaster. Have to use edge for this now

    Frost and the highest mountain done, forests are left then done with worldpainter, thus leaving only some in-game stuff to do til it's finally done (unless I come up with something)

    I think I may have FINALLY finished painting my city-world terrain. Still have to paint the forests and fix some of the terrain in-game but otherwise I think I might actually be finished after multiple months of putting the project off

    I had to completely remove the download of the first resource pack after my last build because it had a worrying uptick in downloads and I didn't want it to be downloaded and have people "expect" that my latest build would look good with it installed.

    Just to underline that the old builds look exactly the same with the new resource pack, but the Zhirinovsky Central Station will NOT look good with the old one.

    Finally published something again.

    As was noted in my last post here, it's inspired by mirrors edge catalyst, a game I've been spending a lot of time playing over the last few months.

    I got a new computer a while back, which made it possible for me to actually have a much more varied game library, which is why my minecraft activity has effectively taken a nose-dive.

    But I can finally say that I haven't left the game, I do still enjoy it and now you can see what I've been working on

    The BSL shaderpack has an option called "white world" which makes my mirrors edge catalyst-inspired build look like the actual mirrors edge catalyst map which makes me smile a little

    Looking back at my old builds, I honestly don't think I'm happy with a single one of the things I uploaded before the SPUI-schematic. The terrain, the carrier, all of the stuff for Project Slavia, I don't like looking at them anymore.

    Are there any good tutorials on how to edit block models on blockbench? feels like they're all limited to showing blocks that are 16x16, and only "adding new blocks" instead of editing existing blocks. I want to make a sort of server-rack (see here https://youtu.be/CXtUTvM__hY?si=MEveVceJuI2vBk_T&t=130) that i can determine the facing of, but i can't figure out how I'd go about doing that
