Our team at MCProBuilders are map makers too. We use plugins on our server to save time. Things like "EasyWarp" and WorldEdit are crucial for getting our maps done in time. It's good to be able to do /warp commands when you need to edit a loot table or /warp survival when you need to edit a survival minigame. The map that we are doing now is 2000x2000 and I don't want to have to walk that far. We also use our server to do applications. It's so easy to set it so when people come on they get teleported to the application section. You can still apply on the server -snip- .
To conclude I believe that sometimes plugins can get in the way when playing on a server but also can give mine craft a much bigger potential for its players.
