    Ah, actually one more thing.

    Consistency. Please.

Stone and Deepslate drop cobble, but nothing else.

All woods make the same oak crafting table, dark oak smithing table, birch fletching table, so on.

Sometimes, palettes for the same kinds of blocks are different. The stone suddenly gets a different set of color? Why?

Some blocks inexplicably can be crafted into other kinds of blocks, or into the same block in completely different ways. You need to smelt cobblestone into stone to craft stone bricks, but with deepslate, throw it in a square a few times and you've got your hands on deepslate bricks.

Plus, it'd just be really cool. Tools with spruce handles, different furnace colors, different chests, etc...

    You're killing me, guys.

To expand, here's a few things that I'd love to improve exploration a bit.

-Compasses point to your spawn point, aka, your bed.

-Sleeping bags that can be used to skip the night without setting your spawn point.

-Backpacks. Not entirely sure how they'd be handled or balanced, but they'd add 9, 18, 27 etc... extra slots to your inventory.

Combat has some ideas I like, some I don't. The range mechanic is a good one. I dislike the food changes, though. Also, Shields should work frame-1. The extremely long delay is simply frustrating. The most effective way to use a shield is to just hold it up, when it'd be so much more fun to see an arrow flying towards you and being able to quickly use your shield to deflect it and continue fighting. Heck, maybe even a parry mechanic to allow you to parry predictable hits and get a free devastating blow in.

Being able to put certain items into a "Scrap Bench" or something of the sorts to break the item down and retrieve some of its materials back would be the best way to go about this in my opinion. You could backtrack the crafting of the item while still being punished. You could put a bucket into a Scrap Bench and receive 4 Iron Scraps, then 2 Iron Scraps could be turned into one Iron Ingot.

    *The monkey's paw curls*

Now Mojang announced a huge nether update, eventually splitting it into 3 parts, with a few forgotten features even being added years after the final update occurred. You've caused caves and cliffs but worse, almost collapsing the fandom.

HD skins are atrocious, they stick out like a sore thumb.

The only ones I'm hesitant about are 12, 6, and 10, and I disagree with 15. Villagers are broken, but they need to be rebalanced in a different way. Other than that, these are good ideas in my book. Heck, 4 came true! We got warm/cold variants of cows, pigs, and chickens in the new snapshots.

I'd like Minecraft to go the opposite direction of that. I think realism is hurting the game. Initially, fireflies weren't added because they were poisonous to frogs in real life, but apparently eating a cube made of literal lava is fine. Thankfully, fireflies were re-implemented through that special grass block they're adding soon, but you get the idea.

-Internal restructure of the game to be more data-driven, up to modern standards, and easier to use.

-Cleaning up, optimizing, and reorganizing ancient code.

-Datapacks to evolve past being command packs and using the fact that the game would now be data-driven, allow the implementation of entirely custom blocks, items, entities, and more with their own tags, e.g., "mydatapack:customblock"

-Minecraft itself being a datapack within the game so it can be disabled and replaced with entirely new experiences.

-Scripting API within datapacks, using a custom Minecraft language so Mojang can offer extreme functionality while not having your computer at risk. Having a
powerful scripting API would allow mods like Create to be ported to datapacks.

-Consistency with crafting with blocks like stone, deepslate, and granite. These 3 blocks alone have extremely different ways to craft their variants. STOP.

    -Overall optimization.

-More Block Shapes. These arbitrary limitations are just that - arbitrary. Say what you will about "being creative" but vertical slabs at the least are a necessity. It's a slippery slope, Mojang, and you made the decision.

-Bring back the otherworldly fantasy vibes. World generation is nice, but it doesn't capture the same wonder as some of the older versions. More out-there mobs, blocks, items and more is what Minecraft needs more of. Minecraft is not real life.

-More unique weapons, items, and blocks, e.g., chains, the mace, the trident...

That's what I want for Minecraft mostly summarized.

After the stuff Warner has pulled, not seeing it. Multiversus, taking down YT vids with C418's music in it, nah, I'm good. Movie itself looks awful, too. Jack Black playing Steve when Jason Momoa was right there was incredibly stupid. The movie also looks awful and unfaithful to Minecraft, which is crazy considering the Lego Movie (by WARNER BROS.) AND Dog Man are sitting RIGHT THERE.

I'm not holding my breath for it.

Actually, Bedrock players might have it better in a few years because Addons are getting better. The reason Addons may be better is because they don't require modifications of the game and just work, plus Bedrock's more extensive multi-player experience, allowing you to friend people and join their worlds while they play.

I really want a Modding API for Java, alas...

Y'know, I'd also really love more consistency in the game. Almost every single block with a "smooth," "bricks," or "tiles" variant is crafted in a different way and it ticks me off. I'd love some consistency.

    Add vertical slabs you cowards.

This isn't what I mean, although I think this is a good future for Minecraft. Wish for the day where somebody can hop on a server and a buncha mods are automatically installed :D!

What I just said was beside the point anyways, when I say to make the game "Data-Based," I mean to convert the hard-coded blocks into files containing .jsons that easily toggle features of the block. So, the game reads the data of the block and generates it accordingly. Of course, you'd still be able to run custom code and refer to it, but it'd be a Godsend for development of not only blocks, but items, entities, UI, as well as making a modding API much easier to integrate. If Mojang is worried people will steal the files, just encrypt them like hell, like they always do.

Convert the game to be data-based. All the blocks are bunches of .json files in a folder within a bigger folder called "blocks." Ofc, some custom code in there too. Makes it easier to develop new blocks and creates the possibility of Java getting an official modding API. Even doing this to Bedrock would be a huge step forwards.

I know this is very late, but I saw this in my comments again, and I'm left wondering, "why not just call them DMs instead? It's more widely used, right?"

    Lol, pretty funny.
