The main programming language to learn is Java, if you don't know Java, consider looking up some tutorials / books about it, one book I recommend is call Java for Dummies (not insulting anyone), and yes, I would love to help you, but its really hard to make a modpack like tekkit, sense you need to get permission from the makers, I would love to create a few mods with you and start with the basics.
