Sounds like you could easily add a plotme world to your server, use multiverse inventories, and an economy plugin to set a price for the plot, that way they could have it forever, and you can also reset expired plots if you'd like, but honestly the world is endless, so why bother.
I think the quickest way would be to make a few blogs, try and choose something unique that you have experience in. Also if you post them at the same time, and they each do pretty well it could help out even more.

Subscribing is a choice, and requires the person to have some quality submission, I think it separates the high levels who trick people into viewing their submission(i.e. posting a project with a real life picture) from people who others have decided to be updated, when that user posts new stuff.
Plus you get xp for subs, so it's kinda best of both.
You may be better off looking for a team to join, there are tons out there (I usually get asked to one every other day not including teams without servers).
To start you off you can click my name and join that server, but it is highly exclusive so don't expect admittance.
I've always wondered if it's possible to get <name> that way all things purchased on buycraft would go to you. Other than that SERVER or Broadcast would also be cool.
Whatever you do avoid numbers at the end, I find those people are usually annoying.
I think the only response you would get in projects is that it doesn't belong there. You can just post it in the mods section and use the progress bar to show it isn't done.
hollow trees, tree houses, moss, thin branches (sideways kinda fence), fallen trees, fox holes, bear den, and or natural paths (tall grass all around, but a thin dirt path winds all over aimlessly).

I've always thought it would be cool to use plotme and some new plugins to make a clash of clans (iphone game) like you have to train creepers(wall breakers). The plotme would be your base and you'd randomly tp to others and try and get there bed or something.
