    Communities/Texturing What should I use to make a HD texture pack?

    Photoshop is literally the best program that you could use if you want to make a good texture pack, but if you're looking for something simple just use Paint.net.

    I cleaned up the application format because I'm a grammar nazi and I like things to be clean and organized (can you blame me?). It still has all of the information, so it shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy.

    What part of the server do you want to be staff in?:
    I prefer some legitimate gameplay. Most commonly some kind of survival/factions. I play that the most along-side with the standard creative "plotme" servers.

    You want staff, yes? I help, you get the jobs done and I get the rank. That's why everyone is here, after all.

    List three reasons why I should choose you:
    I have been playing Minecraft since late alpha versions / early betas (I can't say for sure, but it was very early). I have much knowledge about the game. I have a life and other interests, but if I find the server worthwhile I will be sticking around.

    I have co-owned a server in the earlier days. I've got a large scale of skills in relation to help and/or benefit the server. This includes mostly artistic skills and general knowledge of how to run a server (basically I'm saying that I saying that I know what I'm doing). My artistic skills consist mostly of Photoshop. I am also a relatively talented builder. I don't have a portfolio for any of my work, simply because I haven't had the interest to, nor felt like it.

    I'm usually a good guy and have patience, but it is limited (like everyone). I rarely get angry, it usually stoops to the level of frustration then dissipates. I have a good understanding of the standard English language. This is my only known language, but I have made sure to make myself easy to understand.

    How can you help out?:
    Anyway that you need me to.

    Are you willing to advertise?:
    No, I'm not. (Again, if the server is worthwhile enough, I will consider it).


    I hope that I don't rub off as condiscending or obnoxius. I'm simply trying to be formal, to be professional as possible.

    Hi,

    Reading over this a few times, you seem to know what you're doing. I'm interested in joining the cause.

    I've been playing Minecraft for a few years now, it was introduced to me when I was 10, by a friend (old beta 1.5_01).

    Past experience
    I was a co-owner on a lovely server, with a very good setup. I had a lot of friends on there and it was an AWESOME experience while it lasted. The server slowly started getting less and less active and by the end of it, the server was left a ghost town.

    I'm afraid I'm rather brief on languages. I do make up with it, with a strong understanding of the english language.

    Why do you want to be a part of this?
    Since the fall of the other server that I told you about, I haven't really had a decent server to play on in a while now. I was merely hoping that this could be the next best thing.

    Do you have any skills or specialities that could be an asset to the community?
    I'm an experienced Photoshop artist. I specialise in making textures and banners/logos. This could be of use to your upcoming community, other than that I'm also a 8/10 builder.

    Additional comments
    I can spend around 1-5 hours a day. High school is a priority right now, but I will fit in time for the server. I have a small amount of experience with plugins, but I am a quick learner.

    Since I imagine age is an issue here, I'm just going to punch that though right in the balls for you. I honestly don't consider myself to be that young, I'm taller than most people that I meet (5.9 ft), my voice is low for my age and I get along with people that are much older than me. Maturity has never been a problem for me, I do well at school and I've got lots of talents. I imagine that we would get along well, I have a good sense of humor and I'm quite laidback.

    Why should we pick you?: I'm willing to pick up a few hours on a project at a time, I'm working for free and I plan to generally be dedicated to the server. My building style is generally a lot of geometric shapes that do not necessarily represent anything, but more a less looks nice. I try to go for materials that complement each other and that make a nice blend. I've never really put my skills into hire before, so I don't have many major sick builds to show, but I can guarantee that you will be happy with what I produce. I would not call myself professional just yet, but expert... you've got your guy. Other than that, I have run as a co-owner a few times and I have a lot of experience generally as staff. I'm educated, and I'm not a bastard; so why don't you give me a shot? :)
