Are you sure those islands in the sky are not really stars?I'm honestly not sure if stars appear during that time of day, though.

Yup - if you look closely, you'll see the stars too (the small white dots)...the "islands" are much bigger.

Ok, I'm definitely beginning to think I have a modded version of Minecraft...even though my MagicLauncher says it's not >.>

I've come across several more temple-houses (each one exactly the same - two beds occupying the same space and a furnace sitting on top of a block of diamond,
    midget Enderman (called Ender Kids),

    an Ice Blaze,

some kind of skeleton with a pigman-ish skin that carries a wooden hoe,

two new types of ores: Unholy Crystal

    and Holy Crystal.

Also, I'm seeing weird hues in the sky textures, as well as flashes of light

and what looks like islands waaay up in the sky.

Also occasionally finding blocks of emerald on the surface of the ground (not emerald ore, but blocks of emerald).

Does anyone know what mod this is?

Then I've got a modded version straight from the download then >.> They said it was vanilla, though.

Ah well, that's better than I was expecting.

lol oops Didn't know that was Mycelium...never seen it give off particles before. It digs up easily - what I meant was that it gives off particles like bedrock.

I'll upload the map asap - I mined out the submerged structure and some of the stone under the ice wall since I posted the pictures, but I lost all my stuff dying (lol) so am back at the spawn point. Just go across the ravine and head straight (west, I think - don't have a map, so going by the direction of the sun and stars) and you'll find the wall of ice after a few minutes.

    What's a tekkit?

I didn't use anything - running an almost vanilla Minecraft with only the 2 mods I mentioned. I didn't get my copy straight from Mojang, though ...Arrr ... but as far as I know it's a vanilla version I got.

dylaniscool191.It was a biome mod with a drop and 1 mob.
2.That achivment was from a achivment maker!
3.This is completly fake. We all know herobrine isnt real

    1. I don't have any other mods running besides OptiFine and Better Ore Distribution, and my MagicLauncher doesn't say that I have a modified .jar file.
    2. I know -_- That's my forum signature, not a part of my post.
    3. I can't make you - or anyone - believe me...I'm just telling you my experience with this map, and trying to provide as much photographic evidence to verify my story as possible. Whether or not you believe me is entirely up to you. Plus, if Herobrine isn't real, then why did Notch repeatedly try to remove him with each update and finally give up? Surely once would have been enough, if he had just been a part of the game files like the other mobs. I have yet to see Herobrine myself, but this map is certainly making me believe he exists.

Yup That's why I said it was no real biggie to me.

    It's fixed now, though.

True. Why else would Notch have to keep removing Herobrine? He just wouldn't stay gone, evidently.

Ah sorry, my bad - planks, not slabs. When I first saw the room, all I could see was half of the block, so made the mental connection to slabs, not planks.

I was pretty sure it was too small to be an abandoned mineshaft, but that does make sense.

As for the tunnel, I made it. Sorry, I didn't point that out apart from in the telling of the story - guess I should to prevent confusion - here's where I said it:

    NateNoki...
I went down and the water pushed me against some stone...so instead of swimming back out I decided to make a tunnel back to shore, thinking I might have some use for an underwater lava pool....

Well, think of it this way - people still love to play Team Fortress Classic (not TF2, it's predecessor back in the 90's) and other retro games from the 90's. People still go crazy over Doctor Who and Star Trek - both shows started out in the 60's.

Minecraft was made in 2009 (according to the Wiki)...just 3 years ago (well, almost 4 now). In those three years it's garnered a massive worldwide fandom, and almost everyone knows of it's existence at least - it's one of the most popular games out there. It still has a lot of life left in it, especially when the next-gen versions come along...it's not going anywhere for a good long while.

If there are still people playing it, then it's not dead. I'll be playing it forever, even if I'm the last person on earth to do so.

I found an abandoned mine before - had cobwebs, rafters, fence supports - went on for a long ways, and deep too...even had rooms, bridges and platforms made out of wooden planks.

Unfortunately, I deleted the world before I new how to take screenshots...ah well.

Aww ok. I figured that was more likely the case than Mojang singling out a single Miner to give a nod to anyways.

I almost always seem to spawn in either winter or desert biomes - it's rare that I see the Extreme Hills biome, so it was pretty epic for me. Sorry for the false alarm, everyone.
