You can't really say that EVERY kid is bad - just the handful of kids who ruin it for everyone else. Not sure if I said this already, but I know some 11/12yr olds who are more mature than some players over 20.


Maturity is for immature people.

To be honest, some of the comments are really hard to reply to. I meant I was annoyed with kids insulting people in the chat just because they either lost, or it was a tie. And the worse part is (in my opinion), some admins don't do ANYTHING about it.

Atleast I'm trying to be mature I made this a long time (October, I believe?) and I figured, "Why not share this to the public"? So I did share it. By the way, I made this because my mom helped me get over my addiction and I wanted them to know why Minecraft is so addicting. Video game addictions can be very dangerous (There's a pretty good amount of deaths related to video games), and that's why I made this post, to show people that games (like Minecraft when you can say whatever you want in the chat) can get young people in alot of trouble. (like swatting which is REALLY stupid)

I know what you mean. My main reason is actually music producing and gaming. I really don't play Minecraft unless I'm playing with my friends or just learning LUA with ComputerCraft. In my opinion, it seems like Skype is calling out to predators to trick younger people into doing illegal stuff or sometimes even kidnapping them for ransom.

You do have a good point. But still, gaming too much can cause problems. for example, now you can game wherever you are, with consoles, mobile devices, computers, even portable consoles like the PS Vita or the 3DS. So now, you can play games in your bedroom. And that can cause insomnia.

I know what you mean. When I go into a minigame server, mostly the chat is either spam or little kids insulting people. Trust me, they say some really nasty words.

Yes, very true. Addictions are hard to break. I battled my addiction for 2 months until I finally won. I started learning piano (I discovered I could hook my piano to my computer) and that helped. Minecraft is basically now a great alternative to GTA, due to it being open world, and you can make some amazing mods for Minecraft using Minecraft Forge.

Well, there's actually a pretty good number of ways how parents and/or guardians can use Minecraft's amazing blocky world to their advantage. You can go on SKrafy (A very kid-friendly server for Minecraft), get the MinecraftEDU mod (An educational mod for Minecraft), and you can even create a school project inside of Minecraft. In my opinion, it seems like Minecraft is the new educational game for kids.

I actually got Minecraft on my birthday 2 years ago and I wouldn't stop playing it. I got my brother a copy of Minecraft with my birthday money so we can play Minecraft together. And of course, it almost destroyed our lives. We gained alot of weight, sometimes cyber-bullied, and friends didn't really want to talk to us, because, all we talked about was Minecraft.
