I Myself have had pretty bad experiences on faction/pvp servers in my minecraft years.
this is actually one of the reasons i started my server.
i am a 19 year old that understands abusive staff on server is usally what leads up to people quiting.
so i vowed to my players to never give anyone any special treatment or abuse in any way.
and now my server has 100-150 people on a day

you guys should check it out sometime if u want the ip let me know
at least give it a chance.
