The controls would be too wonky. Also if you haven't noticed Nintendo has been claiming copyright on almost all videos showing off it's games so if Minecraft was to become a Nintendo game it wouldn't be so hot for YouTubers. Also the Wii U was a failed console. It had an exceptionally low amount of buyers and Mojang would have a hard time trying to figure out how to make the game work on the Wii U touchscreen controller. Plus, we don't need another Minecraft Lame Edition when you can just play the PC version.
The new skin system has been added but the skin servers don't yet support it. That is why Mojang will be doing maintenance on the servers Jan. 20-22. So skin editors that support it wont be added for a while.

So you are going to hire a coder to make the mod for you and a person to texture it and then you will publish it and get the credit? Or are you just trying to get 2 people to cooperate on a mod.
Well, according to the pictures this server has many builds with styles plagiarized from famous builds making them have good shape, but horrible color/texture. If that's what rags to riches means then.... great.
