Macbooks have quite terrible graphics, and the MacBook you have doesn't even have a gpu—it just runs integrated graphics off the cpu. I would make sure you have all other applications closed (especially google chrome) and then lower your graphics settings. In particular, change graphics to "fast" and dynamic lighting to "low" or "off" (not sure if there is an off setting).
